Ojai, Calif - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team continued play today in the Pac-10 Championships with Devils competing in the Quarterfinals for both singles and doubles.
First up was sophomore Rebecca Rankin in the Quarterfinals for the singles Invitational Draw where she squared off against USC's Carine Vermeulen.
The Woman of Troy proved to be too much for Rankin as she fell 6-2, 6-2.
Freshman Jessica Leitch also competed in the Quarterfinals of the Invitational Draw against Ester Bak of Oregon.
Leitch stepped up to take her match from the Duck in a 6-0, 6-3 decision.
In doubles action, the 24th-ranked Devil duo of Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler stepped up to play the Washinton State Cougar duo of Nora Gaal and Ekaterina Burduli.
The Devils took care of the Cougars to advance to the Quarterfinals with an 8-5 win.
Their fellow Devils, Sabrina Capannolo and Jessica Leitch were also in contention to advance to the Quarterfinals, but were stopped by the University of Arizona Wildcat duo of Dianne Hollands and Maja Mlakar in a tough 9-8 loss.
Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler stepped up to their Quarterfinal match-up against Dinka Hadzic and Dea Sumantri as the final Devils still left in contention at the Pac-10 Championships.
The Huskies proved to be too tough for the Devils as they fell in a 8-6 loss.
Play will continue in the Pac-10 Championships tomorrow with sole Devil of Jessica Leitch competing in the Semi-Finals of the Invitational Draw starting at 9 a.m. in California.
