Women's Tennis Falls to No. 13 Clemson 4-3

March 19, 2004

Tempe, AZ - The Arizona State Women's Tennis Team put forth yet another awesome effort Friday afternoon against the No. 13 Lady Tigers of Clemson, but in the end they fell just short with a 4-3 loss.

The day started tough for the Devils as Clemson took the doubles point, and only the duo of Cindy Sureephong and Wendy Pilecka came up with an 8-6 win over Clemson's Daniela Alvarez and Alix Lacelarie.

The Sun Devils stormed back in singles with Sabrina Capannolo, Cindy Sureephong, and Lauren Colalillo all taking wins.

The singles win for Lauren Colalillo extends her winning-streak to seven in-a-row.

The rest of Devils played well, but were unable to take down the other three singles matches, just barely letting the Lady Tigers slide by.

The Devils fall to 4-8 on the season with a road match versus No. 10 Texas (11-1) coming up, while the Clemson Tigers move to 13-3.

The next match for the Devils is set to be played on Sunday, March 21st at 12:00 p.m. in Austin, TX.
