Sun Devils Beat Wildcats, 2-1

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State women's soccer team (3-0-0, 1-0-0 Pac-10) ended Arizona's (2-1-0, 0-1-0 Pac-10) winning streak and extended their own to three games in a 2-1 win over the Wildcats in Tucson.

The first goal of the game, and the only goal of the first half, was scored by Arizona in the 19th minute. The Wildcats did not score again.

Arizona State came out fired up in second half, outshooting the 'Cats 12-4.

ASU's first goal came at the 71:55 mark from freshman defender Jaclyn Clark, who followed through on a rebounded shot for the score. The assist went to sophomore forward Sarah Blaska for her second assist of the season.

At the 83:58 mark, freshman forward Karine Inoue got an unassisted score for her second goal of the year.

Sun Devil goalkeeper Erin Reinke got her third win of the season.

Arizona State fired 17 shots at the Wildcat goalkeeper compared to Arizona's nine.

The Sun Devils continue their road swing when they head to Utah to take on the Utes on September 12.
