TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's basketball team will take on UCLA on Saturday night in their first game at the 2004 State Farm Pac-10 Women's Basketball Tournament, being held March 5-8 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
The Sun Devils, who finished in a tie for third in the Pac-10 with an 11-7 league mark, head into the tournament as the No. 5 seed and will face fourth-seeded UCLA at 7:15 p.m. Pacific Time (8:15 p.m. Mountain Time) on Saturday night.
The winner of the ASU-UCLA game will face the winner of the Stanford-Oregon State or California game in the tournament semifinals at 3:05 p.m. Pacific on Sunday afternoon. Sunday's semifinal games and Monday's championship game will be televised nationally by Fox Sports Net.
Arizona State won the 2002 Pac-10 Tournament Championship in Eugene, Ore., and lost its first game of the tournament to California last season in San Jose, Calif.
The winner of the 10-team tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
