Palos Verdes, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Arizona State University women's golf team and reigning Pac-10 Champion will look to defend its title at the 2008 Pac-10 Championships in Palos Verdes, Calif. The tournament, hosted by USC, will be held at the par-72, 6,000 yard Palos Verdes Golf Club.
The Pac-10 currently has three of the top-four teams ranked in Golfweek.com's top-25 rankings. No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 USC, No. 4 ASU, No. 14 Arizona and No. 19 California all lend to this year's ultra competitive field.
The line-up for the Sun Devils features junior All-American Azahara Munoz, sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist, junior All-American Jennifer Osborn, sophomore Juliana Murcia, and senior Camila Sola.
Last season, Arizona State won its first Pac-10 Championship in eleven years earning ASU a Pac-10 record seventh conference championship in women's golf.
The Sun Devils are coming off a second-place finish at their own PING/ASU Invitational. Nordqvist birdied three holes on the back nine to tie for first place and force USC's Dewi Schreefel into a play-off. Nordqvist eventually came up short on the second hole of the play off to lose out on medalist honors.
