WILMINGTON, N.C. - Several members of the Arizona State women's golf team were honored at the National Golf Coaches Association Awards Banquet, following the conclusion of the NCAA Championships. On top of their fourth place trophy, members were recognized for their achievements on the course and in the classroom.
NCAA Championship runner-up Jennifer Johnson was named NGCA Freshman of the Year. Johnson had six top 10 finishes in her inaugural season and only placed out of the top 15 once. She joins the likes of Anna Nordqvist (2007), Louise Stahle (2006) and Miriam Nagl (2002) as Sun Devil Freshmen of the Year.

After Azahara Munoz took home the honor of having the highest grade point average of an All-American the past two seasons, Murcia won the award this year. Murcia recently received her Bachelor degree in Art with an emphasis in sculpture, carrying a 3.8.
Four members of the Sun Devil lineup earned NGCA All-American honors. Carlota Ciganda was named First-Team for the second consecutive year while Murcia received First-Team accolades after being on the Second-Team last year. Johnson was also selected to the First-Team. Jaclyn Sweeney was recognized as an NGCA Honorable Mention All-American. Additionally, Ciganda and Murcia were named to the All-Central Regional team after placing in the top 10 at their Regional.
