Women's Basketball Season Tickets On Sale Now

TEMPE, Ariz.-- Season tickets for the ASU women's basketball team's 17 home dates are on sale now, Director of Athletics Kevin White announced Tuesday. Tickets may be purchased at the ASU athletic ticket office or by calling the office at (602) 965-2381.

"This is a wonderful way for Valley fans to show us their continued support," said head coach Charli Turner Thorne. "We had a great reception last year -- even setting the new single-game attendance mark -- and we hope to see that momentum carry into the 1997-98 season. Everyone knows that the best sixth man is your crowd."

Approximately 500 seats are available for season ticket holders, and are all situated in rows 10 or lower in the University Activity Center. The season ticket packages are priced at $50 for the general public and $40 for ASU faculty and staff.

The Sun Devils play host to eight 1997 NCAA Tournament teams in the UAC this year, three as part of their non-conference slate: 1997 SEC Tournament Champion Auburn, defending Big West Champion UC Santa Barbara and Marquette. Pac-10 rivals Stanford, Oregon, USC, Arizona and Washington round out ASU's other "March Madness" opponents.

As a season ticket holder, fans will receive the best seats in the house, plus:

  • monthly newsletters featuring game highlights and player updates
  • invitations to women's basketball receptions, special events and game analysis sessions with head coach Charli Turner Thorne
  • player autograph signings after selected games
  • opportunity to travel as a group to the ASU-UofA game in Tucson (additional cost involved)
  • The ASU Athletic Ticket Office, which is located at the south end of Sun Devil Stadium, is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
