Traffic Advisory - USA Triathlon (April 5-6)
On Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th, the City of Tempe will be hosting a two day USA Triathlon for High School and Collegiate athletes.

Friday, April 5th
Road Closures, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
Northbound and southbound Mill Avenue Bridge - all n/b traffic on Mill will be diverted eastbound on Rio Salado, eastbound and westbound Curry between Mill and College, southbound College between Marigold and Curry, westbound and eastbound Rio Salado between Hardy and Mill.
Note:
Access to businesses/condos (State Farm/Marina Heights Campus/Salt, etc) on Rio Salado between Mill and Scottsdale Rd can be made from:
Scottsdale Road north or south, northbound Mill Avenue from University
Access to businesses along Rio Salado, between Priest and Hardy, should be made from:
Northbound on Beck to westbound 1st street which leads out to Rio. Take Rio Salado eastbound to businesses. Beck can be accessed from University or 5th St
Arizona State Climatology Office (200 E Curry, Tempe)
One lane will be designated to get traffic in and out of this location from Mill/Curry. Those needing access need to notify officer to access location and a motor will respond to assist. Traffic exiting this facility can do so westbound in the designated coned-off lane.
Saturday, April 6th
Road Closures, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
- No through traffic northbound or southbound at Scottsdale/Rio Salado.
- No through traffic northbound or southbound at Mill/Rio Salado.
- No through traffic northbound or southbound at Mill/Curry.
- No through traffic e/b or w/b at Mill/Curry
- Southbound Curry closed between College and Marigold
- e/b and w/b Rio Salado closed between Priest and Mill (see note reference access to businesses between Priest and Hardy)

No e/b traffic on Washington/Curry

Access to businesses/condos (State Farm/Marina Heights Campus/Salt, etc), on Rio, between Mill and Scottsdale Road, can be made from:
Must be made from the area of Scottsdale and 202 traveling s/b (no access from University). Traffic exiting State Farm will be sent w/b on Rio to n/b Mill and then e/b on Curry.
Access to Sun Devil Stadium/Karsten’s Golf Course/Whiteman Tennis Center/ Weatherup/ etc…
Must be made traveling n/b from University Access to ASU facilities; can also be made from McAllister and Athletes Way.
Access to businesses along Rio, between Priest and Hardy, should be made from:
