ASU Selection Criteria Hall Of Fame And Distinction

Athletes (Hall of Fame)
  • First team All-America in football, basketball, or baseball
  • Olympic medal winner
  • Olympic top eight finisher
  • United States Olympic Team member or another recognized nation that fields "strong" teams
  • An NCAA-AIAW champion
  • An NCAA-AIAW top six finish
  • World American or NCAA-AIAW record performance
  • An NCAA statistical champion
  • Significant contributions to sports while at ASU and after, when the above criteria does not or could not apply.

    Coaches (Hall of Distinction)

  • Development of the program
  • Career record
  • National title(s)
  • National top-20 rankings
  • National achievements, such as, coach of the year, President of the National Coaches Association
  • Developer of national champions in individual sports
  • Developer of Olympians and/or World, American or NCAA-AIAW record setters
  • Developer of All-Americans

    Administrators (Hall of Distinction)

  • Facilities developed
  • Hired substantial contributors to the department
  • Minimum of 10 years of service
  • Positive overall direction of the program under their administration

    Eligibility for Nomination
    Athletes will only be eligible for nomination to the Hall of Fame if they participated in a varsity program and TEN (10) years have lapsed since their graduation "class".
