TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's Allison Bradshaw, Celena McCoury and Karin Palme earned All-America honors, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced today.
Bradshaw, a sophomore from San Diego, Calif., and McCoury, a junior from Canton, Ohio, earned all-America status in doubles competition. The tandem finished the season ranked 14th by the ITA with a 17-5 overall record. Seeded third in the NCAA Championships, the duo fell to eventual champions Claire Curran and Amy Jensen in the quarterfinals.
Additionally, Bradshaw was also named an All-American in singles. She was the team's highest ranked player by the ITA, at 10th, and finished her season with a 25-8 singles record. Bradshaw advanced to the finals of the Pac-10 tournament on April 30, becoming the first Lady Devil to reach the championship final in school history. Also an All-Pac-10 first team selection, Bradshaw advanced to the third round of this year's NCAA Singles Championship. She is foregoing her final two years of eligibility to become a professional.
Palme, a junior from Guadalajara, Mexico, finished the season ranked 20th with a 26-24 singles mark, the second most wins on the team this season. Like Bradshaw, the All-Pac-10 honorable mention selection reached the third round of the NCAA Singles tournament.
As a team, the Sun Devils advanced to its 15th consecutive NCAA Championships and reached to the quarterfinals for the fifth time in nine years. ASU finished with a 15-8 record and a No. 9 ranking.
