Three Softball Players Earn All-Region Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - Sophomores Erica Beach, Nichole Thompson and Kirsten Voak all earned All-Pacific Region accolades.

Beach was selected to her second first-team honor at the designated player position. Beach leads the team in batting average (.349) and runs batted in (43). Beach also tallied 52 hits, six doubles and seven home runs. She also posted a 12-9 pitching record with 71 strikeouts.

For the second straight year, Voak was a second-team selection as a pitcher. Voak, who holds the school record for most wins in a season, currently has a 28-9 record with 291 strikeouts. Voak also has a 1.06 earned-run average and is holding opponents to a .177 batting average.

Thompson was also a second-team choice. She is batting .343 with 58 hits, eight doubles and a team-high 40 runs scored. Thompson also leads the team in stolen bases with eight. In the outfield, Thompson holds down the centerfield slot, posting a team-high five assists.

All three players are now eligible to earn All-American honors.
