TEMPE, Ariz. -- Three Arizona State women's basketball players - seniors Danielle Orsillo and Kayli Murphy and redshirt sophomore Kali Bennett - were named to the Pac-10 Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, announced by the conference on Thursday.
Currently a graduate student (higher and postsecondary education), Orsillo (3.47 GPA) earned second-team honors for the second straight season after earning honorable mention honors the previous two seasons. The Sun Devils' leading scorer (14.1 ppg) in 2009-10, Orsillo previously earned her undergraduate degree in communications.
Murphy (3.37 GPA/interdisciplinary studies) earned honorable mention recognition for the second consecutive year following a season in which she finished second on the team in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and fourth in scoring (7.3 ppg). Last December Murphy earned her undergraduate degree in three-and-a-half years and has already begun work toward her graduate degree.
Bennett (3.27 GPA/design studies) made her official Sun Devil debut this season after redshirting in 2008-09 because of NCAA transfer rules. In her first season as a Sun Devil Bennett finished first on the team in blocks (1.3 bpg) and third in rebounding (5.1 rpg).
