Top Swim Teams to Visit Tempe
On The Slate: The Arizona State women's swimming team will host UCLA and Florida in a double-dual Friday, November 14 at 2:30 p.m. Both the men's and women's teams will be in action on Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m., where they will host USC at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. The men's and women's diving teams will be in Tucson, with their meet results being included into this weekends swimming competition in Tempe.
Last Time Out: The women enter this weekend with a 2-0 dual record, after beating New Mexico State 168-112 in Las Cruces N.M. on Nov. 8. Kelly Wilson (500 and 1000 free) and Stephanie Elwonger (100 and 200 free) were multiple winners for the Sun Devils. The men (0-1) were idle last week.
Opponents:
Women: The UCLA women's team finished 14th at the NCAAs last year and
finished fifth at the Pac-10s. USC won the NCAA Championship after finishing
second in the Pac-10. Florida, a member of the SEC, finished 20th at the NCAAs
last year.
Men: USC finished sixth at the NCAAs and second in the Pac-10.
Coaching Staff: Tim Hill (George Williams, '71) enters his 14th year with the women's team; Hill's career record at ASU is 78-39-1, 112-45-1 overall. Asher Green (Butler University, '86) begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Sun Devils. Ernie Maglischo (Ohio '60) begins his fifth year with the men's sqaud; posting a career record of 24-20 with ASU and 182-75 overall. Sean Farrell (SCSU '93) begins his second season as an assistant coach for the men's team.
