TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State swimming and diving team kicks off their final competition of the 2012-13 schedule with the women's NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Beginning Thursday, the female squad will compete in 21 events over the course of the weekend and conclude their season on Saturday.

Arizona State swimming enters the weekend after a stellar performance in the Pac-12 Championships, where the Sun Devils earned multiple NCAA consideration times and moved up in the record books. Three Sun Devils earned medals on the weekend, placing sixth overall.

Alex Popa earned the only NCAA A-cut for ASU in the 200-yard breaststroke where she took home the bronze, and followed by breaking the school record in the 200 IM. Cassie Morrice also earned a bronze medal, swimming a B-standard in the 500-yard freestyle. Tristin Baxter received her second silver medal in conference championships for her swim in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing merely .26 seconds off her personal record.

The women's diving team will send junior Hailey Casper and freshman Morgan Weller to the NCAA Championships after both divers punched their tickets in the Zone E Diving Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. Weller entered the Zone E after taking home the first springboard championship for Arizona State since 2005 in the 1-meter dive at the Pac-12 Championships. She finished fifth on the 3-meter and eighth on the 1-meter to secure her spot at NCAA's. Casper qualified the day before, finishing second on the 3-meter, which automatically qualified. Her two-round total of 691.10 came in just behind first-place qualifier Samantha Pickens of Arizona.
