Friday, March 5: #4 California Golden Bears (7-0, 4-0 Pac-10)
Saturday, March 6: #5 Stanford Cardinal (11-2, 3-1 Pac-10)
Arizona State Sun Devils - The Sun Devils (4-2, 1-2 Pac-10) will head to the Bay Area this weekend in their toughest road trip of the season. The trip poses two top-five opponents in No. 4 California and No. 5 Stanford. Last season ASU lost twice to Stanford, 5-4, in close matches. In Coach Sheila McInerney's 14 years, the Sun Devils have yet to defeat the tennis powerhouse Cardinal.
A Rookie Holding Her Own - ASU's Allison Bradshaw has stepped into the No. 1 position after the departure of four-time all-American Reka Cseresnyes. After playing on the juniors circuit a year ago, Bradshaw has made the jump to the collegiate level and has been playing well with dual match upsets over No. 60 Ana Friginovic of New Mexico and No. 13 Ditta Huber of Southern California. Playing No. 1 singles, Bradshaw has a 5-1 dual match record, a 17-9 overall mark, and has made her first appearance in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings at No. 78.
Senior Leardership - Senior all-American Katy Propstra has been excelling this season after coming back from an injury that nagged her for a large part of last season. So far, she has recorded the best winning percentage on the team (.722) with her 13-5 overall mark and is 4-1 in dual match play. With partner Bradshaw, Propstra has also notched 10 doubles victories.
California Golden Bears - The Golden Bears are off to one of their best starts, with an undefeated mark of 7-0. Last week, Cal knocked off conference rival Stanford, 5-4, at the Cardinals home courts. A day prior to the defeat of Stanford, Cal downed No. 6 Texas, 5-4. The Bears have five singles players ranked and four doubles teams: No. 25 Anita Kurimay, No. 32 Amanda Augustus, No. 36 Francesca La'O, No. 51 Amy Jensen, No. 64 Karoline Borgersen. Doubles teams of: No. 3 and Defending National Champions, Augustus/Jensen, No. 14 Claire Curran/Kurimay, No. 45 La'O/Emeka Mayes, No. 49 Borgersen/Jenny Lee.

Stanford Cardinal - The Cardinal managed to maintain their grasp on the talent pool when they signed freshman Marissa Irvin last fall. As a freshman, Irvin has already marched her way into the top of both the singles and doubles rankings. No. 2 in singles as well as No. 2 in doubles, with partner Teryn Ashley, Irvin has filled the shoes nicely after the departure of Anne Kremer, Julie Scott and last year's NCAA semifinalist, Ania Bleszynski. Besides the No. 2 Irvin, Stanford features four other ranked singles players: No. 9 Ashley, No. 50 Gabriela Lastra, No. 75 Jennifer Heiser, and No. 88 Keiko Tokuda.
