Sun Devil Softball Arrives In OKC - WCWS Tickets On Sale Now

OKLAHOMA CITY -
After touching down in Oklahoma City on Monday afternoon, Arizona State softball is three days out from opening day of the Women's College World Series, the program's 11th trip. The Sun Devils open play at 4 p.m. PT on Thursday, May 30 against Texas on ESPN2. All-Session passes are on sale and single-session passes go on sale Wednesday.

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased at NCAA.com/WCWS. All-Session tickets start at $100, outfield flex packages (minimum of four sessions) are $60, single-session tickets start at $20 and are on sale beginning Wednesday, May 29. All games of the WCWS will be aired on TV on the ESPN Networks, TV schedule here.

WCWS Box Office Hours
The box office at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium opens at the following times for the WCWS:
All times are local Central Time
• Wednesday, May 29 - 10 a.m.
• Thursday, May 30 - 8 a.m.
• Friday, May 31 - 1 p.m.
• Saturday, June 1 - 8 a.m.
• Sunday, June 2 - 9 a.m.
• Monday, June 3, through Wednesday, June 5 - 1 p.m.

The Women's College World Series bracket works on a double-elimination schedule. The two teams that make the Final Series (June 3/4/5) will play a best-of-three series for the NCAA Title.

Fans in attendance can enjoy free off-site parking and shuttle, fan festival from May 30 to June 4/5, fan giveaways daily and a FREE POWERADE NCAA Youth Clinic for boys and girls in Grades 3 through 8 on Saturday, June 2 from 8 a.m. CT to Noon at Putnam City Optimist Complex. Registration for the clinic is at NCAA.com/youthclinics.

The program's 11th Women's College World Series appearance in program history is the seventh under Clint Myers. The Sun Devils will play Texas on Thursday, May 30, at 6 p.m. CT/4 p.m. PT on TV on ESPN2. More information about opponents and game times will be update on thesundevils.com as well as the NCAA website here. All games at the WCWS will be broadcast on TV on the ESPN Networks.

Arizona State earned its way to the Women's College World Series after sweeping a Regional and Super Regional on the friendly confines of Farrington Stadium in Tempe. In the Regional, ASU topped San Jose State (5-2), and Georgia twice (2-0, 2-0). To clinch the WCWS berth, ASU took two from Kentucky last weekend (5-4, 5-2).

UP NEXT
ASU will play in the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City with its opening game on Thursday, May 30 at 4 p.m. PT against Texas aired on ESPN2. The complete schedule is posted on the NCAA website, here.  

NOTES
All of ASU's WCWS appearances (7) under Myers have come after hosting a Super Regional in Tempe. Lone year without an appearance was 2010.

The ASU softball program is 18-16 in the WCWS and 83-47 overall in the NCAA Tournament. Clint Myers is 14-8 in the WCWS in six completed appearances.

The last time ASU went to the WCWS was in 2012, finishing fourth.

The Pac-12 Conference leads the country with the most national champions produced in softball with 23, two of those from Arizona State (2008/2011).

Schools from the states of California and Arizona have won 24 of 31 NCAA Division I softball championships. There are no schools from the state of California in the 2013 WCWS, Arizona State is the only school from the state of Arizona to advance.
