Opening night

• The Sun Devils won their 27th consecutive victory in a HOME opener, the second-longest active streak in the nation behind Illinois (29) - though it should be noted ASU’s streak excludes 2020 due to the unusual circumstance of that season and Sun Devils not having a home opener until December.
• Arizona State is 84-28-2 all-time on Opening Day and 66-15-1 on Opening Day at home. The Sun Devils have won 24 consecutive Opening Day games played at Mountain America Stadium.
• Kyson Brown’s 46-yard touchdown on ASU’s second offensive play of the game extended the Sun Devil streak of scoring on their first offensive drive of a year for the 11th consecutive season - the longest active streak in the nation. 
• In season openers, head coach Kenny Dillingham has outscored opponents 180-54

• Improved Kenny Dillingham to 4-0 in season openers as Arizona State’s head coach.
• Improved ASU to 84-28-2 on Opening Day in history and 66-15-1 on Opening Day at home
• Was ASU’s 24th consecutive Opening Day win when the game was at Mountain America Stadium.

What can Brown do for you?

• Kyson Brown’s 46-yard touchdown was the longest run of his career and his first time finding the end zone since Nov. 2, 2024 at Oklahoma State.
• Brown has been exceptional in season openers in the last season, accumulating 178 rushing yards and 156 receiving yards (334 total yards) with two touchdowns. 
• What is more impressive is he has accomplished that one just 28 total touches (11.9 yards per touch).

Holy Boley 

• Cutter Boley became the first Sun Devil quarterback to throw for six touchdown passes since Andrew Walter in 2004 - tied for the second-most with Danny White and Walter and one off the school record of seven set by Mike Pagel.
• Boley threw for 387 yards, the most in an ASU debut. It was the most passing yards since Trenton Bourguet’s 435 against Colorado on Oct. 29, 2022, and just the second time since 2015 a quarterback has thrown for over 380 yards. 
• Since 2000, Boley is now one of just 30 FBS quarterbacks to throw for six or more touchdowns with no interceptions. 
• His 22.2 touchdown percentage (six touchdowns on 27 passes) is the seventh-highest in the FBS since the 2000 season. 

Taking Offense

• Arizona State recorded 681 yards of total offense, the most in a contest since Sept. 10, 2016 against Texas Tech with 652 yards. 
• The 681 yards, 9.6 yards per play, six passing touchdowns and 432 passing yards were all the most in the Big 12 this week
• Arizona State’s 30-second scoring drive to open up the game is the fastest opening scoring drive for the Sun Devils since at least 2007. The next closes was a 1:02 scoring drive to open the 2011 season against Missouri
• Arizona State’s 28 points in the first quarter is the highest-scoring opening quarter in a season opener
• The Sun Devils opened the year with 28 points in the first quarter, it is the most in a quarter by Arizona State since Sept. 24, 2016 when they tallied 31 points against California on Sept. 24, 2016.
• The Sun Devils scored 70 points for the third time in school history, tied for the second-most in program history (the 70-7 victory over Arizona in 2020). The 63-point margin of victory was also the second-most in program history. The school record for both categories was a 79-7 victory over Colorado State in 1969.
• The Sun Devils were versatile in their scoring with six passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns - marking just the 21st time since 1996 an FBS team has reached those milestones in a single game. 
• ASU had over 400 passing yards and over 200 rushing yards, just the fourth time since 1996 it has reached both milestones in the same game. 
• The 70 points against the Bears were the sixth-most allowed by Morgan State in program history behind 87 against Grambling in 1993, 83 against Florida A&M in 1986, 77 to Maine in 2003, 73 to Western Illinois in 2000, and the first-ever game the Bears played in 1899 - a 71-0 loss. 
• Morgan State gave up just seven points in their season opener against North Carolina A&T a week ago.

Golden Receivers

• Colorado transfer Omarion Miller hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season as a Sun Devil in the first quarter, it’s his first time finding the end zone since November 22, 2025 against Arizona State.
• Reed Harris caught a career-best two touchdowns for a game-high 132 yards. It is Harris’ third career 100+ yard receiving game and the first since Nov. 15, 2025 against No. 16 Georgia Tech.
• Arizona State had three 100-yard receivers: Harris (137), Grayson Rigdon (110) and Miller (102) - a feat that has not been achieved at Arizona State since at least 1996. The trio combined for five receiving touchdowns.
• For Miller, it was the fifth time in his career he has eclipsed 100 receiving yards in a game. Harris has now done it three times, while this was Rigdon’s first. 
• Rigdon and Harris had two touchdowns and it was the first time two different Sun Devil receivers recorded two or more receiving touchdowns since Chris Coyle and Rashad Ross against Washington State (two each) in 2012.
• ASU is the only team in the country in Week One so far to have two players achieve that feat. For perspective, that only occured on 14 different occasions in all of the FBS last season. 
• The Sun Devils receivers recorded 340 out the 432 total passing yards in the game after the catch - paced by Grayson Rigdon’s 99 (out of 110 total yards). 
• Conversely, Morgan State had just 46 yards after the catch on the day with no player recording more than 10.

Gold Rush

• With 249 rushing yards (35 carries/7.1 ypc), the Sun Devils reached 200 or more yards on the ground for the 17th time under Kenny Dillingham, improving to 13-4 in such games.
• ASU has now rushed for over 100 yards in 30 of its 40 games under Dillingham.
• Sun Devil rushers had seven rushes of over 10 yards, including four rushes of 25-plus yards.

Getting Defensive

• ASU held an opponent to 30 or fewer points for the 65th time in 95 games since 2018 and the 31st time in 40 games under Kenny Dillingham and Brian Ward.
• The team has held opponents to 400 yards or less in total offensive yards on 57 times in 95 games since 2018 after tonight (60.0 percent) and 28 times in 40 games under Dillingham and Ward.
• In the last two-plus seasons, the Sun Devils are one of just five teams in the nation to not allow over 450 yards in a regular season game. 
• Morgan State running back Jordan Barnett had 12 rushes for 114 yards last week against NC A&T. The Sun Devil defense held him to just three yards on three carries on Saturday. 
• ASU held Morgan State to just 86 passing yards, just the 25th time since 1996 ASU has held an opponent to 100 or less yards. The 86 yards were tied for the 18th-lowest and the fewest since the Wyoming season opener in 2024 (78 yards). 

Empty the Notebook

• The Sun Devils did not attempt a single field goal and also did not punt a single time on Saturday - marking just the second time since at least 1996 that has happened (vs. Navy in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl).
• That was largely accomplished by the Sun Devils going 4-for-5 on fourth downs on the evening. The Sun Devils entered the contest having gone for it on fourth down 116 under head coach Kenny Dillingham - the sixth-most in the country over the last three seasons.
• ASU recovered its second onside kick under Kenny Dillingham - notable as that ties the Sun Devils for 10th in the nation over the last three-plus seasons for most on-side kick recoveries.
