The Sun Devil Club serves as the fundraising arm of Sun Devil Athletics, supporting more than 650 student-athletes by providing championship-level resources, experiences and opportunities.
Reserved exclusively for students pursuing their master’s degree through the Bud Selig Sports Law and Business program at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, the Sun Devil Club Graduate Assistant position offers unparalleled hands-on experience within a Power Four athletics department.
As this is a two-year role designed to provide long-term professional development and meaningful involvement within the department, applicants must be entering a two-year graduate program track within the Selig SLB program.
This role is uniquely designed to prepare aspiring sports industry professionals for successful careers in college athletics, nonprofit fundraising and the broader sports business landscape.
Through meaningful, real-world projects, a consistent presence within the Carson Student-Athlete Center (CSAC) and direct involvement with major initiatives across Sun Devil Athletics, the Graduate Assistant will gain valuable exposure to strategic communications, donor engagement, event operations, marketing and development. More than just a learning opportunity, this role empowers its holder to make a tangible impact while building a professional portfolio and network within one of the nation’s most innovative athletic departments.
Sun Devil Club Graduate Assistant

The Sun Devil Club is seeking a highly motivated and professional Graduate Assistant to support strategic communications, donor engagement and key initiatives within Sun Devil Athletics.
Reserved exclusively for students enrolled in the Bud Selig Sports Law and Business program at Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law who will be participating in the program for two years, this hands-on role provides unparalleled experience within a Power Four athletics department while helping prepare aspiring sports industry professionals for careers in athletics, fundraising and sports business.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the management and execution of content across Sun Devil Club social media platforms, including Instagram, X and Facebook
- Develop and implement social media content plans highlighting fundraising initiatives, donor impact, student-athlete support, events and storytelling campaigns
- Assist with campaign setup, digital promotion and content creation for annual fundraising initiatives, including Back Your Devils Week
- Support donor stewardship and engagement efforts through storytelling, impact-focused communications and event coverage
- Collaborate with Sun Devil Club staff on projects and initiatives that enhance the donor and fan experience
- Support the management and growth of the Junior Sun Devil Club through membership fulfillment, Game Day experiences, database maintenance and email communication
- Assist with the planning, setup, execution and breakdown of Sun Devil Club and athletics events, including banquets, golf tournaments, Hall of Fame events and donor hospitality experiences
- Maintain accurate records, assist with project coordination and provide administrative support as needed
- Maintain a professional and consistent presence within the Carson Student-Athlete Center while collaborating with athletics staff, donors, alumni and external partners
Learning outcomes
- Gain hands-on experience within a Power Four athletics fundraising and external operations environment
- Develop practical skills in strategic communications, digital marketing, content creation and brand management
- Learn best practices in donor engagement, stewardship and nonprofit fundraising strategy
- Build experience in event operations, hospitality and Game Day execution within collegiate athletics
- Strengthen proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, social media strategy, email communications and project management
- Gain exposure to cross-functional collaboration across athletics administration, marketing, development and fan engagement
- Build a professional portfolio and network within the sports industry through meaningful, real-world projects and experiences
Qualifications
- Must be accepted into and enrolled in the Bud Selig Sports Law and Business program at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law
- Must be entering a two-year track within the program due to the two-year structure of the Graduate Assistant position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail and professionalism
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation best practices
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and/or other creative platforms preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work select nights, weekends and athletics events as needed
- Interest in college athletics, sports business, fundraising, marketing or nonprofit operations preferred
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
