TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State Athletic Department will have an "Open House" for new men's basketball Coach Rob Evans and his staff on Wednesday, May 27, beginning at 4 p.m. at the University Activity Center, with the general public encouraged to meet the new coach.
The event will take place within the ASU Select-A-Seat Event for football and men's and women's basketball, which is scheduled for May 26-28 from 4-8 p.m. each day. ASU Sun Devil customer service representatives will be on hand each day to help fans select tickets for the 1998 seasons. Fans purchasing season tickets will receive a Sun Devil Fun Pack have a chance to win a trip for two to the ASU-USC football game on October 3.
The event will include basketball contests with the ASU staff and players as well as photo opportunities with Sparky. Parking for the May 27 event is free. Rob Evans Basketball Camp information will also be available.
Also on hand for the event will be the new men's basketball staff, consisting of Russ Pennell, Tony Benford and Dan O'Dowd.
The schedule of events for Wednesday, May 27, is as follow:
4:00 p.m. -- Doors to the UAC open to meet the new staff
4:30 p.m. -- ASU Faculty/Staff meet Coach Evans and his staff
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. -- ASU Slam Dunk Club meets Coach Evans and Staff
7:00 p.m. -- Coach Evans introduced to general public/season ticket holders
7:00 to 8:00 p.m.-- Coach Evans available for autographs and pictures
