Scottie Graham

Scottie Graham, was named Senior Associate Athletics Director at Arizona State University in June 2014 to provide support in all areas of student athlete development and welfare. Additionally, he works directly with designated sports to provide assistance with operations and program development.
 
Prior to ASU he served as the Director of Player Engagement since 2010 and as a Regional Director from 1998-2010 for the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). As Director of Player Engagement for the NFLPA, Graham was responsible for cultivating, maintaining and enhancing relationships and trust with current and former players, as well as key partners across all NFLPA business platforms. He was charged with the promotion of all NFLPA business and marketing opportunities, including licensing, sponsorship, events and multimedia, and the dissemination of key communication to both current and prospective players, and key stakeholders. In addition, Graham ensured compliance with contracted services to partners and NFLPA licensees, and contributed to creating, organizing and presenting materials at numerous events related to professional football, including the NFL Draft Combine, Rookie Symposium, Former Players Convention, Executive Committee Meetings, Agent Seminars, and Board of Player Representatives Meetings.
 
Graham also facilitated voting that resulted in the ratification of a $47.1 billion Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in 2006, the largest in sports history at the time, implemented a process change in membership dues collection that generated a $3.5 million increase in collections from 2007-09, including a consistent 100-percent of dues from players, and raised $53,000 for Native Vision Life Skills Camp. He bolstered fan engagement through promotion of NFL PLAYERS Inc., and identified and secured numerous sponsors annually to participate in programs offering employment opportunities to transitioning professional athletes.
 
He is an active board member of the Jack Brewer Foundation and currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the Korey Stringer Institute. He was awarded the 2005 Congressional Certificate of Merit from the United States Congress and the Nassau County Legislature Certificate of Recognition in 2005.
 
Graham spent seven seasons in the NFL with three teams, including the New York Jets, the Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals. As the Vikings’ leading rusher in 1993, he held the highest two-game rushing total in team history with 305 yards and the fourth-highest single-game rushing total in team history with 166 yards. He never fumbled the football in his NFL career and received the Ed Block Courage Award in 1996. He appeared in 57 games (nine starts) and registered 364 carries for 1,267 yards and seven touchdowns.
 
He was a three-year starter and team captain at Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education/Sports Leadership in 1991. He earned his Master of Arts in Black Studies from OSU in 1996 and has completed a number of professional development programs. Scottie resides in Gilbert, Ariz., with his wife of 27 years, Mary, and has two children Mylek (26) and Marika (23).
