Justin Pollnow serves as the Chief Athletics Compliance Officer at Arizona State University, overseeing all aspects of the Sun Devil Athletics compliance program.
He manages the day-to-day operations of the office, including rules education, monitoring systems, financial aid, NCAA legislative interpretations, waivers, and violation reporting, while also leading the department’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) efforts and governance processes.
Pollnow has been with Sun Devil Athletics since July 2012, advancing through several leadership roles, including Senior Director, Director, and Associate Director of Athletics Compliance. During his tenure, he has helped guide the department through conference realignment and complex NCAA matters while building comprehensive compliance systems.
Pollnow works closely with campus partners across Title IX and Inclusive Excellence, Financial Aid, the Bursar’s Office, and International Students and Scholars. His experience navigating the evolving landscape of college athletics, including NIL and the anticipated House settlement, continues to support Sun Devil Athletics at the highest level.
Before ASU, Pollnow served as Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and began his career at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School, along with a Sports Law Certificate, and received his bachelor’s degree in international business from Cardinal Stritch University, where he was a four-year baseball student-athlete and a 2003 NAIA Academic All-American.
