Jeremy Hawkes joined the Sun Devil Media Relations staff in 2011 and currently serves as the primary media relations contact for the Sun Devil football and baseball teams.
Over the course of his career, has worked with over 50 Sun Devil student-athletes that have gone on to professional careers in their respective sports.
Most recently, he oversaw the media campaign leading up to and through the selection Spencer Torkelson as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers, in addition to four other draftees for the campaign.
Hawkes took over as the editor of the Sun Devil Football Media Guide in his first season with the program and his work was recognized in the annual CoSIDA Publication Awards, receiving third place honors nationally in 2014 and 2015. In 2012, Hawkes was awarded the CoSIDA District VIII Award for Best Feature Story with Accompanying Video as part of the annual Fred Stabley Writing Contest for his story on then-ASU football senior, Deveron Carr.

In 2012, Hawkes became a contact for the Sun Devil Football program and assumed the primary media relations role with Sun Devil Baseball in 2017. At Arizona State, Hawkes has also served as the media coordinator for the 2011 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships - the first-ever championship event as part of the reformed Pac-12 conference - as well as the 2012 Pac-12 Wrestling Championships, 2014 NCAA Softball Regional and 2015 MPSF Women's Water Polo Championship.
Hawkes joined the Sun Devil media relations staff in August of 2011 where he served as the primary contact for men's and women's track and field, men's and women's cross country, wrestling and water polo.
In addition to his position with Sun Devil Athletics, Hawkes also heads the Arizona Cardinal Official Stat Crew and has done so for nearly the entirety of his tenure in the Valley. In that role, Hawkes served as the official statistician for the 2015 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIX in Glendale, Ariz., operating the GSIS system and managing a staff of nine individuals at the event.
Hawkes hails from Tucson, Ariz., where he graduated in 2010 from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with a minor in communications. As an undergraduate, Hawkes worked in the UA media relations office for a span of four years, serving as the primary media relations contact for the men's and women's track and field and cross country program while also assisting in roles with the football, volleyball and men's and women's basketball programs.
After earning his degree, he served a one-year stint as a non-degree seeking graduate student where he continued workingas the main contact for cross country and track and field and helped with the organization and hosting of the 2011 Pac-10 Track and Field Championships. During his time at the UA, Hawkes worked to promote several NCAA track and field national champions.
