Carsten Ball joined the Sun Devil men’s tennis team in 2020 as a volunteer assistant coach.
A decorated professional player from 2005-2015, Ball has six singles and 39 doubles titles to his name, with four of his crowns coming alongside Matt Reid in 2015. He peaked at No. 108 in singles and No. 54 in doubles. Ball participated in all four Grand Slams at least once and played the Australian and US Opens three times each. His 14 doubles Grand Slam appearances include five trips to the round of 16 between 2008 and 2011.
As a coach, Ball helped mold American No. 41 Tennys Sandgren and current Sun Devil Max McKennon.
Ball was born in Newport Beach, California but represented Australia on the pro tour. His father, Syd Ball, was also a tour tennis player. As a junior he reached a career high of No. 9 in the world.
