Bryan McGinnis enters his 3rd season at ASU after bringing over two decades of experience in collegiate football operations and coaching to his current role as The Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations at Arizona State University, where he joined the Sun Devil staff in the spring of 2023.
A veteran of the Mountain West and Pac-12 conferences, McGinnis began his operations career under then head coach Mike MacIntyre at San Jose State University in 2010, later following MacIntyre to the University of Colorado in 2013. Over the next decade, he served as a trusted and consistent presence within the Buffaloes football program, working under three head coaches — MacIntyre, Mel Tucker, and Karl Dorrell — making him the first operations director at CU to serve multiple coaching regimes since the role was established in 1988.
In his operations role, McGinnis oversees all facets of team logistics including team travel, budgets, facilities, scheduling, and the day-to-day operations of the program. His deep understanding of both the administrative and coaching sides of the game is rooted in his early years with San Jose State, where he served in various roles across recruiting, equipment, video services, and as both a defensive and offensive assistant coach.
A lifelong resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, McGinnis began his football journey as a wide receiver at Cabrillo College and then as a high school coach at Harbor High School, his alma mater. He also spent 2 years with the San Francisco 49ers as a player personnel intern while earning a B.S. in Kinesiology from San Jose State University in 2007.
Bryan and his wife, Vrinda, a Special Education Director live in Gilbert, AZ with their three children: Emily Margaret, Madeline Grace, and Jacob Thomas.
