Brett Wallerstedt currently serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships at Arizona State University Sun Devil Athletics, where he is responsible for the overall success, strategy, and revenue performance of the department.
A results-driven senior executive with more than 27 years of leadership experience in team brand partnerships, revenue generation, and strategic management across collegiate athletics, professional sports, and large-scale commercial ventures.
Since joining ASU in 2018, Brett has led transformational growth, increasing sponsorship revenue and overseeing the partnerships team as well as the Sun Devil Radio Network. He played a lead role in securing the naming rights for Mountain America Stadium and Mountain America Community Iceplex at Mullett Arena — recognized at the time as the largest college football and hockey sponsorship agreements in NCAA history, respectively.
Managing departmental financial planning and operating budget, Wallerstedt leads a high-performing team responsible for integrated sales, service, and brand activation strategies.
Prior to returning to ASU, Wallerstedt served on the corporate partnerships team in the front office of the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he helped drive consistent double-digit revenue growth and positioned the organization among the top revenue-generating teams in Major League Baseball.
Over his career, he has held senior leadership roles at ASU with multimedia rights partners IMG College (now Learfield) and CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, now PlayFly Sports, and has dedicated the majority of his professional life to supporting Sun Devil Athletics and student-athletes for over 18 years collectively.
Brett is widely recognized for building high-performing teams, forging long-term corporate partnerships and key relationships, and delivering sustained revenue growth through strategic leadership and execution.
Brett played football at ASU from 1988-1992, earning Third Team AP All-American and First Team All Pac-10 Conference honors in 1992, and to this day holds school tackle records as a former linebacker.
He enjoyed a 5-year professional career in the National Football League after being selected in the sixth round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals and had stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams.
A graduate of ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business, Brett is married to Kelly Wallerstedt and raised their daughter, Logan and son, Nick, in Tempe, where they remain active in community and charitable organizations like the Tempe Diablos.
