Andrea Lore is a veteran leader in student-athlete development with more than 30 years of experience in education and intercollegiate athletics.
Since joining Sun Devil Athletics in 2002, she has provided strategic leadership for student-athlete development and wellbeing, overseeing comprehensive academic services and holistic programs that support success in the classroom and beyond.
Lore leads the Office of Student-Athlete Development, directing a multidisciplinary team serving more than 600 student-athletes. Her team delivers integrated academic and development support — from pre-enrollment evaluation and orientations through academic coaching, learning support, and holistic student-athlete development, including leadership, career readiness, and wellbeing — enhancing the student-athlete experience while ensuring academic progress and NCAA eligibility requirements are met.
A member of Sun Devil Athletics’ senior staff since 2016, Lore plays an integral role in advancing a coordinated model of support. She partners with the university and athletics units to deliver integrated services supporting physical, mental, and academic well-being, and contributes to conference and national efforts focused on student-athlete success.
Throughout her tenure, Lore has led efforts to strengthen academic outcomes, including the development of targeted initiatives such as the Emerging Scholar program.
Under her leadership, ASU has achieved record NCAA Academic Progress Rate and Graduation Success Rate performance, along with sustained improvements in student-athlete GPAs.
Lore’s career at Sun Devil Athletics reflects a progression of increasing leadership responsibility across student-athlete development and academic services. She has advanced through multiple roles within the department — from Academic Support Coordinator to senior leadership — guiding the evolution of academic support services, learning assistance programming, staff development, and strategic initiatives across the unit and department. Her leadership experience also includes sports administration.
Before joining Sun Devil Athletics, Lore served as an instructor and researcher at the University of North Texas, where she taught undergraduate courses in behavior analysis and conducted research in human learning and instructional methods. She continues to bring this academic foundation into her leadership approach, emphasizing evidence-based strategies and structured learning environments to support student success.
A native of North Carolina, Lore competed in collegiate and post-collegiate ultimate frisbee for more than a decade and remains an avid health and fitness enthusiast. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and a Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis from the University of North Texas.
