Mark Kyger rejoined the Sports Medicine staff in 2016 as the rehabilitation coordinator, providing physical therapy, athletic training, and performance services for all athletes in the school's 24 varsity sports. He comes to ASU from the Minnesota Timberwolves where he worked there from 2013-2016. Prior to the Minnesota Timberwolves, he worked at Arizona State University in a similar role from 2006-2013 and Physiotherapy Associates Tempe SPORT from 2005-2006.
A native of Greely, CO, Mark completed his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from The Mesa State College in 2001. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2005.
Mark is a licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer in the state of Arizona. He is a professional member of the American Physical Therapy Association, National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association, Arizona Athletic Trainers’ Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association Basketball Special Interest Group. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Corrective Exercise Specialist/Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Mark is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and holds a Clinical Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute. He is also certified in Advanced Spinal Manipulation from Evidence in Motion Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling I and II, Dynamic Soft Tissue Mobilization, Active Release Therapy and Owens Recovery Science Personalized Blood Flow Rehabilitation.
When Mark is not providing care to the Sun Devils, he spends his time chasing around his 3 kids, enjoying the outdoors, working out and golfing.
