  • Went 3-1 at the Pac-12 Championships, adding wins against Michael Goldfeder (Cal Poly), Kekana Fouret (Oregon State) and Guillermo Escobedo (CSU Bakersfield)
  • Helped the Sun Devils capture the 24th conference championship title in team history, when the team won the Pac-12 Championships on March 10 in Corvallis
  • Beat #11 Holden Heller (Pittsburgh) by a 4-1 decision on Jan. 21 in the team's dual win against the Panthers

2022-23: Compiled a 17-3 record at 165 pounds in open tournaments and one extra match … Started the season 12-0 with his first 11 wins being bonus-point victories … Won the Bob Smith Open and Viking Open … Took fifth place with a 6-1 record at the Reno Tournament of Champions … Nearly pulled off an upset over No. 2 Shane Griffith of Stanford at the Southern Scuffle … Won his lone extra match of the season by first period fall over UNI’s Evan Yant … Notched seven falls, three technical falls and two major decisions.

2021-22: Posted a 9-1 record in his sophomore season competing in open tournaments … Won the RWC – Jet Open at 157 pounds with three bonus-point wins and a sudden victory decision over Jalin Harper in the championship match … Defeated Hunter Bleakney of Air Force, 15-5 in an extra match in Colorado Springs … Earned bonus points in seven of his nine victories – three falls and four major decisions … Placed third at the Lindenwood Open.

2020-21: Only competed at the Cowboy Challenge Tournament where he went 0-2 after returning from an injury suffered earlier in the season.

2019-20 (Redshirt Year): Compiled a 17-3 record wrestling at 157 pounds in open tournaments… Took first place at the OCU Open to begin the season with a 5-0 record, which included three first-round falls in his first three matches… Also brought home first place at the Lindenwood Open where he went 6-0 with four of his matches being bonus-point wins… Made appearances in the Bob Smith Open and Reno Tournament of Champions as well… Finished his first season as a Cowboy claiming 10 bonus-point wins.

High School: Went 156-13 at Bozeman High wrestling for coach Nate Laslovich… Won three Montana AA high school state titles in 2016, 2018 and 2019, notching a third-place finish in 2017… Helped his team to a first-place Montana AA title in 2019… Named first-team all-state in the three years he finished first at the Montana state tournament… Earned academic all-state nods from 2017-2019… Named team captain his junior and senior years at Bozeman H.S…. Designated team outstanding wrestler in 2016, 2018 and 2018… Won the Bill Townsend Sportsmanship and Excellence in Wrestling Award in his senior campaign… Set the season takedown record with 134 in 2019 in addition to the season pin record he set in 2016 with 36…  Was a 2018 UWW Cadet World Team runner up in Greco… Finished fourth at Fargo in 2019 and sixth in Greco, earning an All-America nod in both… Was the 2019 USAW USMC Junior Regional champion… Finished third at the USAW USMC in freestyle… 

Personal: Son of Derry and Paulette McLane… Has a brother, Chase and sister, Sydnee… Earned academic all-state honors in 2017, 2018 and 2019… Grandmother Karen Popelka-Boylan played basketball and cheered at Montana State University… Majoring in applied exercise science.
