Michelle Estill

TitleAssociate Head Coach

Sun Devil Women's Golf Assistant Coach Michelle Estill will enter her sixth season on the coaching staff in Tempe at the start of the 2020-21 season. She returned to her alma mater in November 2016, joining former teammate Missy Farr-Kaye’s staff as assistant coach of the Sun Devil Women’s Golf team. Estill was a key part of the team's run to the 2017 NCAA National Championships, the program's nation-leading eighth all-time.

With Estill and and Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye leading the way, Arizona State has maintained the standard of excellence that the program has become recognized nationally for. Estill has been an integral reason why the Maroon & Gold have 11 Team Championships with 10 Sun Devils capturing Individual Titles during her tenure. Estill has had a hand in mentoring seven All-Americans, two Pac-12 Individual Medalist, and an Individual NCAA Champion since taking over as an assistant coach prior to the 2015-16 season.

Along with Coach Farr-Kaye, the Sun Devil coaching staff has managed to consistently bring in some of the top talent all over the World, with the 2019-20 team featuring all European players, who are each highly-ranked amateurs. Several Sun Devils have enjoyed extremely successful careers at the International and Professional level both while competing for Farr-Kaye and Estill at Arizona State as well as after the conclusion of their collegiate careers. With Estill on the coaching staff, golfers are always prepared for life after college, both on and off the course.

Farr-Kaye and Estill’s history runs deep as they were teammates under legendary head coach Linda Vollstedt. The NCAA Championship runner-up in 1986, Estill graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management in 1989 and was an Academic All-American on the women’s golf team.

After ASU, Estill was the 1991 LPGA Rolex Rookie of the Year and had four top-20 finishes the following year. She’s made many contributions to the association and to the game, as a playing member from 1991-2006, as well as serving on the LPGA Board of Directors and Executive Committee (1996-98) and as President (1998). In 1994, she received the Budget Service Award for the LPGA Urban Youth Pen Pal Program.

Since 2006, following her professional playing day, Estill has worked in multiple areas of PING, Inc., most recently as a Field Sales Representative and was named 2013 IOWA PGA Section Sales Rep of the Year.

Estill also was one of the founding members of Trilogy Athletes, now Viktre Athletes, a social platform for retired and current Olympic and professional athletes.

Her nearly 30 years of experience on and off the course in playing, coaching, sales, fundraising, and mentoring gives Estill a unique perspective on the game that she brings to the Sun Devil Women’s Golf team.
