CAREER NOTES
• A 6-3 forward, Ja’Tavia Tapley transferred to ASU from USC in April 2019. 
• Played in 122 games (91 at USC/31 at ASU) with 70 starts (41 at USC/29 at ASU).
• Earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors from the league's coaches and All-Pac-12 recognition from media that cover the conference following an outstanding senior season in which she led the team in scoring (11.6 ppg), rebounds (6.2/11th in the Pac-12), blocks (0.6 bpg) and free throws made (67), was second in steals (1.3 spg) and FG pct. (48.0) and fifth in assists (1.5 apg).
• Earned undergraduate degree in communication from USC in 2019 and is pursuing master’s degree in liberal studies at ASU.
 
2019-20

• Posted three consecutive double-doubles for points/rebounds vs. BYU (11 points/career-high 18 rebounds), vs. Idaho St. (15 points/11 rebounds) and vs. New Mexico (12 points/12 rebounds). During that stretch, she averaged 12.7 ppg and 13.7 rpg. 
• Scored (then) career-high 18 points to go with six rebounds, four steals & two assists vs. Army (Nov. 10).
• Made first start as a Sun Devil at Minnesota (Nov. 17) and led ASU with 16 points (6-8 FGs/4-4 FTs) and eight rebounds.
• For the second time in three games, established a new career high in scoring, totaling 23 points (8-12 FGs, 7-7 FTs) to go with eight rebounds in win over Cal Poly (Nov. 24).
• Came through with outstanding performance in win vs. BYU (Dec. 6), accounting for 11 points, career-high 18 rebounds (most by a Sun Devil in more than 20 years) and a career-high five assists.
• Posted second double-double in as many games with 15-point, 11-rebound effort in win over Idaho State (Dec. 8).
• Scored 12 points & pulled down 12 rebounds vs. New Mexico (Dec. 14) for third-straight double-double.
• Was named Ann Meyers Drysdale Women's Player of the Week, espnW Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week after leading ASU in scoring (15.0 ppg), rebounds (6.0 rpg) and field goal percentage (48.0) in its historical upsets of No. 2 Oregon (Jan. 10) and No. 3 Oregon St. (Jan. 12). Accounted for 16 points and six rebounds vs. Oregon and posted a game-high 14 points and six rebounds vs. OSU.
• Led ASU with game-high 15 points (6-10 FGs) in win at Washington (Jan. 17).
• Scored 17 of her 20 points in the second half and tied for team lead with eight rebounds in comeback win at WSU (Jan. 19).
• Scored 14 points (7-10 FGs) and tied for the team lead with six rebounds vs. WSU (Feb. 14).
• Tied for team lead with 16 points and, with ASU down six in fourth quarter, scored seven straight points, starting ASU's 20-8 run to end the game in win at Colorado (Feb. 21).
• Closed season scoring 13 points in Pac-12 Tournament first round vs. Cal (Mar. 5).

2018-19 (USC)
• Tapley started 26 of 30 games in 2018-19 and averaged 6.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. 
• Scored in double figures four times and pulled down seven or more rebounds 10 times. 
• Tapley averaged 12.0 points in USC's two games against Colorado, accounting for a career-high 14 points in the first meeting. 
• Against Pac-12 champion and Final Four participant Oregon, Tapley had 13 points and seven boards. She posted season highs in rebounds (nine) and steals (four) against NCAA Tournament participant Texas A&M.
 
2017-18 (USC)
• Appeared in all 31 games (Averaged 2.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per game), scoring in 14 of those appearances as a sophomore.
• Scored a season-high nine points twice. 
• Set career highs with 10 rebounds and five steals vs. Arizona.
• Also delivered a career-high four assists at Colorado. 

2016-17 (USC)
• Tapley started the last 15 games of the season and appeared in all 30 as a true freshman. 
• Averaged 5.7 points and 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
• Set career high with 15 points vs. Arizona on Jan. 27. 
• Also scored in double figures in debut vs. Hawai'i (10 points) and vs. Oregon State (11 points). 
• Top rebounding performance was vs. Washington State on Feb. 17 with eight rebounds.
 
HIGH SCHOOL 
• Tapley ranked as the No. 39 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 6 small forward in the land. 
• An All-State First Team selection as a junior, Tapley averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists per game. 

Personal: Ja’Tavia Tapley was born June 23, 1997 in Jacksonville, Fla.... The daughter of Sylvia Johnson... Has two siblings: Jayla and Jason Tapley... Cousin Josh Johnson played football at Miami University... Enjoys spending holidays with her family... Lists Kevin Durant as her biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to travel to Jamaica... Hopes to play professionally overseas after graduation... Earned undergraduate degree in communication from USC in 2019 and is currently pursuing master’s degree in liberal studies.
