Entering his second season as assistant coach with the Sun Devils, assistant Jeffrey Colton brings over a decade of coaching experience with him to Tempe. For the past four seasons prior to his arrival in Tempe last year, Colton coached the Foothill High School (Santa Ana, Calif) Women’s team. During his time there, Colton led his squad to a CIF Division I runner-up finish in 2011 and back-to-back semifinal appearances in 2012 and 2013. Colton also add coaching stops at San Clemente High and Villa Park High Schools dating back to 2002.  Known for getting the most out of his athletes in and out of the pool, 86 percent of Colton's water polo players maintained a GPA of 3.0 or above and 44 percent had higher than a 4.0 average.  Colton's most recent stop was with SOCAL Water Polo Club, where he helped coach an 18U team that produced 12 athletes recruited to play Division I. Under Colton, the Club won the Chairman’s Cup for five straight years. Before that, Colton coached at the SET Water Polo Club for seven years, managing and recruiting for 12 different teams while increasing the club’s notoriety. Colton managed a staff that sent over 25 kids per year to the collegiate level and personally coached 10 such athletes. The club won the gold medal at the National Junior Olympics in five consecutive seasons from 2006-10. In previous stops, he was responsible for managing and coaching several different clubs and high schools. His first coaching job was at Orange Coast College. Jeffrey Colton earned a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering in June 2002 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
