Christina Hewko begins her first season with the water polo program as an assistant coach after serving as the Director of Operations for the team in 2010-11.
Hewko is a 2007 graduate of Stanford University and was a two-time All-MPSF First-Team member in 2005 and 2007. She was named an AWCPA Water Polo All-American all four years with the Cardinal and her senior season was elected to the MPSF All-Academic Team. A 2007 recipient of Stanford's Pam Strathairn Award for Best Female Competitive Attitude, she was also named to the All-MPSF Second-Team in 2006 and was a member of the 2004 MPSF All-Freshman Team. In her time with the Cardinal, Hewko earned two second-place NCAA Water Polo titles (2007 and 2005) and a pair of third-place titles (2006 and 2004).
Outside of Palo Alto, Calif., Hewko was a part of the 2009-10 University of New South Wales Water Polo Team, played on the UNSW Sydney Metropolitan Championship Second-Place Team, was a member of the 2009 and 2006 USA Women's Water Polo National B Team, and competed for the 2009 USA Water Polo National Canada Cup First-Place Team.
A head coach herself, Hewko has been at the helm of the Corona del Mar High School water polo team since 2004 and was the head coach of Our Lady of Sacred Heart School and Reddam House School in New South Wales.
