Danielle (Dee) Davis rejoined the Sun Devils ahead of the 2026 season after being part of the program during head coach JJ Van Niel's first season in 2023.
A four-year starter for the Fighting Illini and a three-time Big Ten All-Academic Team selection, Davis has since enjoyed an excellent coaching career while holding many different positions within athletics.
Davis was with UC Davis from 2024-25 as the team's mental performance coach. She was an assistant through the most successful two-year stretch for the Aggies in program history, winning a program-best 13 wins in 2024 before breaking that record with 16 wins in 2025.
Davis has her own business, Davis Empowerment LLC, which provides mental performance coaching for Division I women’s volleyball programs and individual athletes.
She spent two seasons (2021-22) as the lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Davidson College while dedicating her time to the Dallas Arsenal Volleyball Club as the Director of Recruitment, Athlete Empowerment and Sport Performance, helping high school athletes navigate the college recruiting process.
Prior to her stint at Davidson, Davis held volunteer assistant coaching positions at Stanford (2020), Santa Clara (2019) and Ohio (2018).
Davis, a 2016 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, also earned a Masters of Sport Administration and Business Administration in 2019 from Ohio University.
