Prior to ASU...
A local prospect who was highly sought after by some of the most prestigious programs in the country…finished her high school career with an incredible senior season that saw Simmons hit for a .441 average, with 41 hits, 28 RBI and 23 walks on the season … was recognized by MaxPreps as a 2018 First Team All-American at catcher after a record-setting junior season…a Top-10 overall prospect in the Class of 2019 according to Flosoftball Hot 100…she was a big reason why Hamilton was tabbed the nation's No. 1 team in the preseason by MaxPreps…appeared in 133 games during her four-year varsity career, producing a .449 (172-for-451) batting average with 38 home runs and 145 RBI… she scored 75 runs and drew 23 walks in her career… carded a career OPS of 1.374 thanks to a .525 on-base percentage and slugging at an .848 clip…was the most dangerous player in the state at the plate as a junior, putting up numbers which garnered her multiple National Player of the Week honors from Extra Innings Softball…finished the 2018 campaign with a gaudy .547 batting average, launching 16 home runs and driving in 57 runs…showed she is more than just an offensive force, playing flawless defense that resulted in a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage…put together an astronomical slash line of .615/1.132/1.747 (OBP/SLG/OPS)…key piece to the Hamilton High School teams that have earned three consecutive berths in the AIA 6A State Championship, winning two state titles…the Huskies had not reached a State Championship game before she arrived…Hamilton finished the season as the No. 1 ranked team in Arizona according to MaxPreps…competed for the USA Junior Women's National Team during the 2019 competition season…Selected to play on the So Cal All-Star Team that played against national teams such as Team USA and Team Mexico…earned AIA 6A First Team All-State honors in 2018 after her spectacular junior season… played part of her club career with the Oro Valley Sun Cats 18u Gold-Judge…set the tone for her club team, leading the squad in home runs, RBIs, and batting average…both of her parents are graduates of Arizona State and her brother is currently in the Barrett Honors College…chose the Sun Devils over offers from several prominent Pac-12 and SEC programs.
