FRESHMAN (2018):
  • Named to the all Pac-12 First Team and All-Pac-12 Freshman Team.
     
  • Notched hits in 19 of 21 games through the mid-season (2/23-3/31), going an incredible 29-for-60 boosting her average to .432 in that time period.
     
  • Nominated for the 2018 Schutt Sports / NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year award.
     
  • Recognized as a NFCA All-Region Second Team member.
     
  • The freshman powered the Sun Devil offense, recording a team leading 24 extra-base hits.
     
  • Filed a career performance in back-to-back games in Tempe, launching four home runs to go with seven RBI against South Dakota and Minnesota (3/6-3/9).
     
  • Was an everyday player for the Maroon and Gold, appearing in 59 games while starting in 58 of them.
     
  • Finished her sophomore campaign leading the team in doubles (12) and home runs (12).
     
  • Carded an incredible .343 batting average, a mark that puts her third best on the team. 
     
  • Drove in a season high four RBI in a win against Minnesota (3/9).
     
  • Topped the team with a .633 slugging percentage, while her .417 on-base percentage ranked second
Prior To ASU: 
Gibson, an infielder from Murrietta, Calif., and Murrieta Valley High School, Verbally committed to ASU in the early part of the 2015 season, before officially signing with the Sun Devils in 2016. Gibby ended her senior season as the league-leader in batting average, on base percentage, RBI and home runs. She also earned All-Southwest MVP honors, in just her second season back following an injury that cut short her sophomore season.  

Personal
Danielle, the daughter of Todd and Ruth Gibson, has two younger sisters, Allison and Katie. She will arrive to campus next fall and pursue classes in her interests of science and math. Gibson chose to come to ASU over Alabama, UCLA and Oklahoma.
