FRESHMAN 2017-18
- Finished his fall season with a 9-3 record, including winning the ITA Southwest Regionals Championships in singles play and doubles play in tandem with Tim Ruehl
- Clinched four matches on the season so far, tied for most on the team with Tim Ruehl
- Scored a point with a three-set victory against Duke, scoring one of two points for the Sun Devils on the afternoon in his first collegiate action of his career (1/13)
- Clinched the match for the Devils against Fresno State in the ASU Invitational, defeating Jeremy Moser 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the victory (2/9)
- Easily notched a win in straight sets against Boise State to win the match for the Devils and open the Blue Gray Tennis Classic, a tournament ASU eventually won (2/23)
- Again faced off Moser of Fresno State en route to the championship round of the Blue Gray Tennis Classic, notching a 6-4, 7-6 win to take the match for ASU (2/23)
- Took his match against No. 36 Axel Geller of Stanford, outlasting the Cardinal in a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7, 7-5 match (3/8)
- Clinched a crucial Territorial Cup Series point with his singles win over Arizona (4/21)
HIGH SCHOOL
- Benjamin Hannestad was the first signee of the reinstated ASU Men's Tennis Team
- Played for a small club in Denmark called Vedbaek
- Has ranked as high as 919 in the ATP ranking for singles, 1109 for doubles and 45 in the ITF world junior ranking
- Is a national champion in singles and doubles
- Represented Denmark in three Davis cup ties
- Played tennis since age of five and was coached by Jorge Gonzalez at IMG.
- Participated in the 2016 Davis Cup and defeated George Tsivadze of Georgia in March.
- Had a semifinal finish in the 2016 Castelo Branco Future in Portugal (July 25-31) where he took down top-seeded Joao Domingues (No. 382 in the world on the men's pro circuit), winning three matches to reach the finals including winning six straight sets.

- Favorite hobbies include a music fanatic, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends playing soccer and watching movies
- If he could meet anyone past or present it would be O’shea Jackson/ ice cube he is a huge NWA fan
- Roger Federer is his favorite tennis player of all time
- Soccer is his favorite sport to watch besides tennis
- His most memorable experience in his career was playing the slams he has had some extraordinary experiences that he will always cherish at those.

What is your favorite shot? Tweener
Favorite commentator? Robbie Koenig – he is something else!!!
Favorite grand slam? Why? Australian open, I love the atmosphere and everything about the country. Melbourne zoo is lit.
Favorite song from your favorite artist? Favorite artist is Gucci mane, and favorite song with him at the moment is “both – feat drake”
What is a quote that you live by? “I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing. Keep proving people wrong and proving myself right” – Connor McGregor.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I would love to learn Spanish on top of the 4 languages I already know.
If you could meet anyone, past or present, who would it be? Connor McGregor, the guy is an inspiration and a legend!
What's your favorite TV show and why? The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. Will Smith and Carlton are hilarious, all I can say.
What is your favorite meal of the day? Dinner
What is your favorite season in the year? Summer if in Europe; spring if in Arizona – too hot in the summers here.

What got you into playing tennis? My entire family have played tennis and they introduced me to tennis when I was 5 and I have been in love with the sport ever since.
What is your favorite thing about Arizona State? I gotta say my teammates! Arizona State has given me a family – forks up.
