AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Became a conference champion for the first time in his career winning the 800 free relay (2024)

SOPHOMORE (2023-24)
  • Placed second in the 200 IM, third in the 200 back and sixth in the 100 back at the NCAA Championships (3/27-3/30) as the Sun Devil men won the program's first NCAA title.
  • Won the 800 free relay, placed second in the 200 IM and 200 back and placed third in the 200 free at the Pac-12 Championships (3/6-3/9) helping the Sun Devil men repeat as conference champions 
  • Won the 200 back and 200 IM at No. 23 Arizona (2/10), while taking third in the 200 free
  • Finished third in the 100 back and fifth in the 200 back at No. 3 California (1/20), while also competing in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay
  • Placed second in the 100 back and 200 back at No. 9 Stanford (1/19), and finished third in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay
  • Won the 200 fly, 200 IM and 200 medley relay vs. GCU (1/6), while also placing third in the 400 free relay
  • Won all three events he swam at Utah (11/20): 100 back, 200 back and 400 free relay
  • Finished in the top five in six events at the midseason NC State Invite (11/16-11/18): 800 free relay (1st), 200 back (2nd), 200 IM (2nd), 200 free (2nd), 400 free relay (3rd) and 400 medley relay (5th)
  • Placed third in the 100m back in an exhibition meet swimming LCM with No. 4 NC State (10/21), while also swimming the 100m back and the 200m free
  • Took second in the 100 back, third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 200 back against No. 4 NC State (10/20)
  • Won 200 free and was third in 500 free vs. UNLV (10/6)
  • Took second in 400 free relay as well as third in the 100 and 200 back against Georgia (9/23)
  • Won 400m free relay along with taking third in 150m free and 150m back swimming LCM in season opener vs. Georgia (9/22)
FRESHMAN (2022-23)
  • Became a First-Team All-American in two events at the NCAA Championships (3/22-3/25) to help the Sun Devils place second for the first time in program history when he took 5th in the 200 back and 6th in the 100 back
  • Placed second in the 100 back and third in the 200 back at the Pac-12 Championships (3/1-3/4), helping the Sun Devil Men win their first conference title in program history. Also took fifth in the 200 IM.
  • Was second in both the 100 back and 200 back plus third in the 200 IM in the regular season finale win against Arizona (2/4)
  • Took third in both the 100 back and 200 back in the victory against No. 2 Cal (1/21), while also racing in the 400 IM
  • Had a pair of fourth-place finishes in both the 100 back and 200 back in the win against No. 12 Stanford (1/20)
  • Had six top-10 finishes at the midseason NC State Invite (11/17-11/19), which included the 400 medley relay (2nd), 400 IM (3rd), 200 back (3rd), 800 free relay (4th), 500 free (9th) and 200 fly (10th)
  • Placed fourth in the 200 free, second in the 200 back and fourth in the 400 free relay in the Pac-12 opener against USC (11/4)
  • Notched the first individual win of his Sun Devil career in the team's home opener against Wisconsin (10/22), where he won the 100 back while also placing second in the 500 free
  • In the team's tri-meet against Georgia and Missouri (10/1), he was second in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 back
  • Returned to his home state of Georgia to make his collegiate debut against the Bulldogs (9/30), in which he won the 400 back/breast relay and took third in both the 150 back and the 200 medley relay

PRIOR TO ASU
  • Ranked as the No. 1 swimmer in the country for the class of 2022
  • Competed at the 2022 Phillips 66 International Team Trials, placing 17th in the 100 back and 18th in the 200 back
  • In July 2021, he had three first-place finishes at the USA Swimming Futures Championship in the 200 free, 100 fly and 200 IM.
  • As a junior at Rivers Academy, he set Georgia state records in the 200 IM, 100 free and 100 back
  • Coach Bowman: "Owen is one of the most versatile swimmers in the country. He can swim a 400 IM and a 100 free. We're also excited about his backstroke potential. He's somebody who is just coming into his own right now and he's going to be a very important swimmer for us."
