2025-26 - REDSHIRT JUNIOR (at Tennessee)

  • Top times from season: 50 free (19.68), 100 free (44.97), 200 free (1:36.34), 100 fly (46.87), 100 back (44.93), 200 back (1:38.21), 200 IM (1:47.50).
  • At the 2026 NCAA Championships...
    • Closed out his collegiate career by breaking Tennessee's 200 back record in the qualifying with a time of 1:38.21 and placed seventh overall in the finals, marking the best finish for a Vol in the event since 2016 (3/28/26).
    • Notched the Vols' third-best 100 back time by touching the wall in 44.93 on the third day of the championships (3/27/26).
  • At the 2026 SEC Championships...
    • Recorded the Vols' third-best 200 back time in qualifying with a 1:39.07 and finished sixth overall in the finals (2/21/26).
    • Clocked a 45.42 in the 100 back preliminary races to move up to fourth in program history and placed 14th overall (2/18/26).
  • Capped off the regular season with three second-place finishes in the 200 free, 100 fly and 200 free relay against Duke.
  • Earned two third-place finishes for the Vols in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay against No. 7 Georgia.
  • Posted his fourth top-three finish in the 200 back this year, taking second with a 1:44.68 against Kentucky.
  • Clocked four podium finishes in the 200 back and 200 medley relay at the inaugural CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge.
  • Took home a podium finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:43.32 at the double dual meet against Auburn and Louisville.

2024-25 - REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (at Tennessee)

  • Top times from season: 50 free (20.24), 100 back (46.63), 200 back (1:40.77).
  • At the 2025 SEC Championships...
    • Swam a personal best time of 20.24 in the 50 free prelims.
    • Took 23rd in the 200 back C final, touching the wall in 1:43.19.
    • Touched the wall in 47.09 during the 100 back C final, placing 24th.
  • Competed in three individual events and three relays during the Tennessee Invite (11/19-22/24).

2022-23 - FRESHMAN (At Tennessee)

  • Top times from season: 50 free (20.46), 100 back (45.45), 200 back (1:40.05), 100 fly (48.32).
  • At the 2023 NCAA Championships...
    • Took home fifteenth in the 100 back with a personal best time 45.45 during his championship debut. 
    • Helped push the Vols to a 6th-place finish in the 400 medley relay with a program record time of 3:02.05. 
  • At the 2023 SEC Championships, posted the third-fastest time in program history for fifth place in the 200 back (1:40.05). 
  • Finished second in the 200 back, touching the wall in 1:45.90 against Carson-Newman (1/19/23).
  • Took home first place in the 200 back with a time of 1:44.79 during the Florida meet (11/5/22). 
  • Notched a second-place finish in the 200 back against Louisville (10/20/22) touching the wall in 1:46.66. 
  • Finished first in the 200 back (1:47.79) and second in the 100 back (49.01) during his collegiate debut against UNC Wilmington (10/1/22). 

PRIOR TO TENNESSEE

  • Top times prior to Tennessee: 100 back (46.39), 200 back (1:40.78), 200 IM (1:47.21), 400 IM (3:53.90).
  • The top backstroker and the seventh-ranked swimmer for the 2022 class according to SwimSwam.
  • During the U.S. National Championships in July, he became the 18&Under National Champion after finishing third in the 200 back (1:57.70) and fourth in the 100 back (54.15). His top time in the 200 back (1:40.78) would have qualified for the NCAA Championships last year and been an A final time at the SEC Championships. Both of Simons' best backstroke marks would rank inside the top 10 in Tennessee history.
  • As a junior in high school, he qualified for the U.S. Olympic trials.
