--Averaged 11.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game during junior season (2014-15).

--Gerry Blakes came to Arizona State from San Bernardino Valley College with first team All-Foothill Conference and first team All-California honors, as he posted 1,052 points and 200 assists in his two seasons.

--Named the California Junior College Co-Player of the Year, his southpaw drives and free-throw shooting are solid assets in the backcourt.

--Coached in junior college by Sun Devil Quincy Brewer (B.S., Social Work, 1997), who was a four-year lettermen who played in 82 games in his career from 1993-97. Brewer was the team’s second-leading rebounder (5.3 per game) in 1994-95 during ASU’s Sweet Sixteen run and 24-9 record. He started in 24 games and played in all 33 that year, averaging 6.7 points per game.

SENIOR SEASON (2015-16):

--Recorded a team-high 34 steals.

--Led ASU with 136 defensive rebounds, while averaging 5.3 RPG.

--Finished 2nd on Arizona State with 30.1 MPG, playing 962 total minutes of action.

--Tied for 2nd on the Sun Devils with 76 total assists, averaging 2.4 APG.

--Ranked 2nd on ASU with 128 made field goals and 332 field goals attempted.

--Capped senior season by averaging 11.0 PPG, 2nd on Arizona State's team.

--Played in all 32 games and started 29 contests during the (2015-2016) season.

--Scored a game-high 20 points with (4-10) 3 PT FG & (6-7) FT, while tying a team-high with 8 rebounds during Mar. 9 loss to Oregon State in 1st Rd of the Pac-12 Tournament.

--Tied for the team-high with 6 assists and 6 rebounds, while scoring 14 points in Mar. 5 home loss vs No. 25 California.

--Netted 15 points with (6-11) FG and (3-5) 3 PT FG during Feb. 28 road loss at Colorado.

--Grabbed a game-high 7 rebounds in Feb. 6 road win at Washington State.

--Produced 15 points with (3-5) 3 PT FG, (4-4) FT, and a team-high 7 rebounds during Jan. 31 home loss to No. 23 Oregon.

--Scored 16 points on (7-9) FG and (2-4) 3 PT FG in Jan. 28 home victory over Oregon State.

--Tied a game-high by grabbing 7 rebounds during Jan. 23 road defeat at Stanford.

--Notched 12 points on (6-9) FG and tied team-high with 5 rebounds in Jan. 3 home loss to No. 7 Arizona.

--Collected 15 points and a game-high 7 rebounds during home victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Dec. 28.

--Scored 14 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in Dec. 22 home win vs Stephen F. Austin.

--Recorded his first career double-double (13 points & 11 rebounds) during Dec. 16 road victory at UNLV.

--Grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds against Kennesaw State on Nov. 18.

--Produced a game-high 22 points in Nov. 16 home win over Belmont.

 

JUNIOR SEASON (2014-15):

HOW GOOD WAS GERRY BLAKES AT WASHINGTON ON FEB. 15? THIS GOOD...

--Had a team-high 12 points along with eight rebounds against USC on Feb. 22.  

--Over a three-game span in which the Sun Devils played Arizona (Feb. 7), Washington State (Feb. 13), and Washington (Feb. 15) Blakes averaged 20.3 points and 5.3 assists per game.

--12 points in Colorado win on Jan. 17 was 11th game in double figures.

--Free throw shooting is a strong part of his game, as he made 37-of-43 (.860) in first 19 games.

--Went through three-game stretch when ASU played Alabama (Nov. 25), Colgate (Nov. 29) and UNLV (Dec. 3) where he shot 24-of-45 from the floor (.533) and averaged 18.3 points and 8.7 rebounds.

SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE (2012-14):

--Blakes was the leading scorer in the Foothill Conference in sophomore year, averaging 23.7 points per game, grabbing 182 total rebounds, shooting .398 from beyond the arc, and .521 from the field. He helped lead his team to the state title game.

--Was named the Foothill Conference Most Valuable Player and during his freshman season, Blakes averaged a team-high 16.8 points and connected on a team-leading 54 3-pointers.  He also had 91 assists and 45 steals.

--Had 1,052 points, 200 assists, shot 84 percent from the free throw lines and grabbed 186 total boards while at San Bernardino Valley College to go with more than 60 steals.
