WHAT COACH SENDEK SAID
At the end of the athletic season at the Sun Devil student-athlete graduation luncheon, each Sun Devil head coach offers a quote to be read prior to the student-athlete speaking. Here is what Coach Sendek had to say about Carrick on May 4:

"We are proud and delighted to celebrate Carrick Felix's undergraduate graduation with a B.S. in Communications. At the same time, we are excited as he begins to pursue his master's degree in Liberal Studies. Carrick continues to be a shining star and a good will ambassador for our basketball program and our university. He is an unselfish, caring teammate and a serving compassionate participant in our community. Carrick's charisma, gentle heart, and easy smile make him everybody's friend. Carrick understands and appreciates the value of higher education. His academic determination and perseverance position him to inspire others who may follow in his footsteps, and to be a leader in our community. Coaching Carrick is a great honor, and I look forward with joy to our next season together. And we thank Carrick's mom, Beverly, for entrusting her son with us."

SUN DEVIL DATA
Super athletic wing who in a five-game stretch at the beginning of the 2010-11 Pac-10 season might have been the best Sun Devil on the court but his first season was literally cut in half after he got ill the week of the Washington trip and missed the game in Pullman. Carrick was averaging 13.6 points (tied for team lead), 3.6 boards, 31.2 minutes and was 14-of-18 (.778) from the free throw line in the previous five games of the Washington trip but only had one double-digit game after that as illness wiped him out for a two-week period. He has one years of eligibility remaining starting after transferring from College of Southern Idaho after 2009-10 season. Earned a medical redshirt his first year there, so he only played one season of basketball. Played his high school ball at Millenium High School in Goodyear, Ariz. (just west of Phoenix) and averaged 19.7 points and 13 boards per game. Averaged 14.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in 2009-10 at College of Southern Idaho.

ABOUT THAT FIVE-GAME STRETCH IN 2010-11
Carrick's five game stretch from Jan. 1-15, 2011, started with a team-high 19-point effort at Oregon in which he added six points and four assists and was 6-of-12 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line and that included a layup and two free throws in the final 33 seconds left to seal the deal on a 60-55 win. He posted 10 points vs. Stanford (Jan. 6) and seven vs. Cal (Jan. 8) before had his best game of the year against Tulsa with 21 points and then had 11 at Arizona on Jan. 15. The next day he became so ill he missed the whole week and couldn't travel to Pullman for the Thursday (Jan. 20) game before catching up with the team in Seattle on Jan. 22.
