Was slowed by a few injuries throughout freshman season but was able to contribute solid minutes and digits in three Pac-10 wins (at Oregon on Jan. 1, vs. Washington State on Feb. 19 and vs. Oregon State on March 5) despite being behind three-year starter Ty Abbott in the rotation. No player in Arizona prep history scored more points in a career (3,164) or a season (1,152 in 2009-10) and tied another state mark with 14 three-pointers in a single game. Broke Mike Bibby's career scoring mark. Corey's Goodyear Estrella Foothills High School captured the Class 3A championship three times as he made The Arizona Republic's All-Arizona team his final two seasons and was chosen the Small Schools (Classes 1A-3A) Player of the Year in 2009-10. Coached in high school by Ty Amundsen and his father is former NBA and Bradley great Hersey Hawkins. Was the nation's third-leading scorer according to MaxPreps.com.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2010-11)
Posted season-high 13 points in the regular season finale against Oregon State on March 5 and he was 5-of-7 from the field with three three-pointers...played season-high 29 minutes in ASU 71-69 win over Washington State on Feb. 19 as he notched sole start of the year. Hawkins had season-high six assists (including five in the first half) and two steals vs. the 17-9 Cougars who were fighting for a postseason bid against a Sun Devil team that was without both Ty Abbott and Rihards Kuksiks due to injury...had team-best seven rebounds in 12 minutes on Jan. 1 in ASU's 60-55 win at Oregon in the final game at McArthur Court as leading scorer Trent Lockett was out with toe injury...ASU led 53-51 but Hawkins hit his only bucket of the game with a three-pointer at the 5:56 mark to stretch the ASU lead to five...saw action in 24 games and started in one (Washington State Tempe win on Feb. 19)

MORE ON HIS HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Averaged 36 points, leading Estrella Foothills to a 31-1 record in his senior season...had a 65-point game against Chino Valley, making 14-of-21 behind the 3-point arc...against St. Mary's, one of the state's most athletic teams, he posted 46 points, making 17-of-28 shots, 7-of-13 three-pointers, in a 79-76 win in December...had 32 points against Mesa Dobson, 42 against California power Huntington Beach Ocean View and 46 against St. Mary's.

HOW GOOD WAS HIS DAD?
Corey's dad Hersey played at Bradley from 1984-88 and was the 1988 National Player of the Year and a consensus All-American after leading the nation with 36.3 points per game in 1987-88. He was a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year and three-time All-MVC pick and set MVC records with 3,008 points, one of the best marks in NCAA history. Hersey also was a member of the 1988 United States Olympic team and the sixth overall selection in the 1988 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers (traded on draft day to the 76ers) and played 13 NBA seasons.
