Brandon Rosenthal

TitleDirector of Scouting & Player Development

Brandon Rosenthal joined the Sun Devils men’s basketball staff in the summer of 2019 as the Director of Scouting and Player Development after working with Phoenix Suns since 2016. He served as the assistant video coordinator and player development coach for the Suns and Northern Arizona Suns.

With the Suns, he was responsible for production and presentation of opponent-scouts, self-scouts, and post-game edits shown to the team. Rosenthal also coached with the 2017 Phoenix Suns Summer League Team and assisted with the Phoenix Suns 2016 Training Camp.

Rosenthal spent the 2015-16 season with the Houston Rockets as a basketball operations video assistant under head coach JB Bickerstaff. With the Rockets, Rosenthal helped initiate the first shooting analytics database in the NBA. He also developed and organized the team’s drill and player development video database.

Before joining the Rockets, Rosenthal spent three years at Santa Clara University. He began as the team’s videographer, transitioning into Director of Basketball Operations and as serving as the team’s interim assistant coach.

He oversaw all team technology and updating and organizing databases as well as the team video playbook. Rosenthal also managed the administrative duties for game day operations, travel, team budgeting, recruiting, marketing, fundraising, community and alumni relations, and volunteer opportunities. Santa Clara would go onto win the College Basketball Invitational in 2013.

Rosenthal has also served as a graduate assistant with St. Edwards University (2010-12), and assisted with the Rochester Razorsharks of the Premier Basketball League. After suffering a career-ending injury, Rosenthal served as an undergraduate assistant for St. John Fisher College, where the team compiled a 82-34 record (2006-10).

Rosenthal earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from St. John Fisher College in 2010 and a master’s degree in Sport Management from St. Edwards University in 2012.
