Tyler Gratton Season 2023-24

GRADUATE: (2023-24):

• Leads the graduate class in points with 12 goals and six assists through 27 games. 
• His six power play goals through 27 games is a new career season-best for Gratton
• Scored his first goal of the season against Northern Michigan on October 20, 2023 at Mullett Arena.
• Went on a four-game point scoring streak from Nov. 3-Nov. 11, 2023. The streak featured four goals and one assists for five total points. His four-straight games with a goal scored is tied for the second-longest goal scoring streak in Sun Devil Hockey history. 
• Tallied goals against Northern Michgian, Stonehill (2x), then-No. 2 Denver (2x), then-No. 9 Providence, Colorado College, Dartmouth, Robert Morris (3x), and Clarkson to make him the second highest goal scorer on the team
• Boasts second best shot percentage on the team with a .203
• Named the 13th captain in Sun Devil Hockey program history as voted on by his teammates, coaches, and staff

SENIOR (2022-23 at Penn State):

• Named a 2022-23 Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
• Skated in 38 games…Had a career-high 15 points on seven goals and a career-best eight assists.
• Game-by-Game: Canisius (10/8): Netted a goal during a 7-5 victory. Mercyhurst (10/13): Scored a goal and tallied an assist for his first career multi-point game in a 6-3 win. St.Thomas (10/20): Registered a career-best three points with three assists in a 6-2 win. No. 17 Michigan State (11/18): Scored the game-winning goal with less than a minute remaining in a 4-3 win. No. 17 Michigan State (11/19): Netted one goal in a 7-3 loss. at No. 7 Michigan (1/28): Scored and assisted on back-to-back goals just six seconds apart, the fastest two goals scored in program history. at No. 7 Ohio State (2/3): Collected an assist in a 4-3 victory. at No. 7 Ohio State (2/4): Potted a goal in a 4-2 setback. Wisconsin (2/24): Registered a goal in a 6-1 victory. 

JUNIOR (2021-22 at Penn State):

• Named a 2021-22 Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
• Skated in 37 games...Collected career highs with nine goals and 12 points.
• Game-by-Game: Canisius (10/9): Scored the lone goal in a 4-1 loss. vs. No. 6 North Dakota (10/30): Registered the opening goal of the game in a 6-4 victory during the US Hockey Hall of Fame Game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. at No. 7 Minnesota (11/19): Tallied one assist in a 5-3 win. Michigan State (12/3): Recorded one goal in a 4-2 victory. at Wisconsin (12/10): Scored the lone goal in a 4-1 defeat in the first game of the series. at Wisconsin (12/11): Tallied one assist in a 5-4 overtime win. at Army (1/1): Reached a career high point streak of three games after scoring a goal in a 5-3 victory. at No. 4/5 Michigan (1/15): Tallied one goal in a hard-fought 4-3 loss. Wisconsin (1/22): Scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 7-2 victory. at No. 13/12 Notre Dame (2/4): Recorded one goal in a 7-2 loss. Minnesota (2/19): Notched one assist in a 6-4 loss. at Michigan State (2/25): Scored one goal in a 5-3 victory.

SOPHOMORE (2020-21 at Penn State):

• Skated in 17 games scoring once...Cut his penalty minutes by 66.7 percent.
• Named an Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
• Game-by-Game: Notre Dame (1/29): Scored his first goal of the season in an overtime decision.

FRESHMAN (2019-20 at Penn State):

• Skated in 31 games scoring three goals and added three assists for six points...Postseason canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Game-by-Game:Alaska (10/17): Scored his first collegiate goal, the eventual game-winner, in a 7-0 shutout victory. at Minnesota (11/15): Added an assist in an 8-2 victory. at Merrimack (11/29): Tallied an assist in a 7-0 victory. at Michigan State (1/24): Registered his first Big Ten goal. Notre Dame (1/31): Scored a goal in series opening tie. Minnesota (2/22): Added an assist in a 3-2 comeback victory.

JUNIOR HOCKEY:

• Played parts of four seasons in the USHL, finishing the 2018-19 campaign with the Central Illinois Flying Aces after a mid-season trade from the Fargo Force
• Played a total of 58 games in the USHL in 2018-19 between the two teams
• Scored 17 goals with 11 assists for 28 points
• Spent previous two seasons with the Chicago Steel where he was a teammate of current Nittany Lion Oskar Autio
• Helped lead his team to the Clark Cup Championship with 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 64 total games played in 2016-17
• Scored 33 goals with 36 assists for 69 points in 185 career USHL games.
