The Heartbeat of our Team


Senior (2020-21):
  • Wore the 'A' as a leader on and off the ice for the program, his third-straight year as an alternate
  • Scored three goals in his final seven games as a Sun Devil, including the game-winner against U.S. NTDP-18
  • Will transition to a player volunteer coach for the 2021-22 season while pursuing his master's degree in Criminal Science with intentions of being in the FBI

Junior (2019-20):
  • Continued his presence on the Sun Devils' top-10 national penalty killing unit
  • Played on the Sun Devils' fourth line as coach Powers go-to line to stymie team's top lines
  • Recorded three assists in the two-game series at Omaha in late December
Sophomore (2018-19):
  • Played in every game for the Sun Devils
  • Staple on ASU's top-10 penalty killing unit
  • Had a game winning assist against Alabama Huntsville
Freshman (2017-18):
  • Scored his first collegiate goal on Jan. 20 vs. Quinnipiac
  • Scored his second goal at Yale to finish the season with two goals and two assists for four total points
  • Played in every series on various lines
Junior Hockey:
  • Netted 14 goals and 33 assists in 56 games for the Aston Rebels in 2016-17
  • Awarded the NAHL East Division Leadership Award
  • Was the top uncommited NAHL player and 49th-ranked NCAA prospect when chose ASU
  • Wore the 'C' for Aston during the 2016-17 season
  • Also tallied 14 goals in his first season for Aston in 2015-16
  • Played in the 2017 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, where he totaled four points (all assists) in two games
  • Named the Most Improved Player and Hardest Working Player in 2015-16 for Aston
  • At one point, played youth hockey with current Devil Joey Raats
Coach Powers on Garcia: "Dom wore the 'C' for his team in Aston and is the ultimate leader and culture builder. The energy he plays with and brings to the room every day is contagious and he will have a major impact on helping us build our program."

Personal: Son of Frederick and Pamela ... has two brothers (Gabe & Chris) ... avid tennis player ... body guard for teammate Johnny Walker.
