Chad Walker begins his first season with the Sun Devil Hockey program as the primary Certified Athletic Trainer. Walker’s primary responsibilities include the daily prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of hockey players’ injuries.
Walker, an NASM certified corrective exercise specialist, employs a skill set of preventive assessment and rehabilitation to ensure optimal athletic performance and injury prevention throughout the year.
Prior to joining the hockey staff, Walker was with the Sun Devil Softball team from 2014-15 and the Football team from 2011-14, working as both a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and later hired on as a full-time staff member. His experience includes working with the Tennis, Women’s Basketball and Track & Field teams at Arizona State as well.
Walker earned his BS in Athletic Training from Marietta College and his MEd in Higher Education from Arizona State University.
A native of Chandler, Ariz., Walker is a member of the Walker is a member of the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society, National Athletic Trainers Association, Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association, and Arizona Athletic Trainers Association. Walker is an avid hockey fan and supporter of the Boston Red Sox, and Bruins. Walker and his fiancé, Becca, reside in Chandler, Ariz.
