Colbert Calhoun joined the Sun Devil football program in 2018, as the born and raised Southern California native made the move to Arizona as a graduate assistant for sports performance, where he aided in the implementation of the strength and conditioning program for the Sun Football team.
After the 2020 season Coach Calhoun moved up in the ranks as he was promoted Assistant Director - Sports Performance, with the Sun Devil football team.
During his time many performance marks have been set by the Iron Devils in addition to the 2024 Big 12 title and recent run of NFL Draft picks.
Prior to his time with Arizona State. The Californian native began his coaching career as a sports performance intern, working specifically with UMass hockey, refining his coaching eye under Coach Kirven and assisting with the strength and conditioning efforts for the Frozen Four finalist 2018 Hockey team.
Calhoun spent two years at UMass after transferring from junior college. He earned his undergraduate degree from San Bernardino Valley College in May 2015 and spent his final two seasons as a member of the Minuteman football team and lettered as a linebacker appearing in every game in 2016 and 2017.
