Bobby Wade

TitleAssistant Coach (Wide Receivers)

Seven-year NFL veteran Bobby Wade is ASU's senior offensive analyst after doing a fantastic job as wide receivers coach from 2021-22. Wade, who participated in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship internship with the Miami Dolphins, had four receivers make big jumps in his tenure as wide receiver coach, led by Elijhah Badger notching 70 catches, 866 yards and seven touchdowns after having just seven catches, 61 yards and zero touchdowns in 2021.

Gio Sanders did the same in 2022 coming up with 40 catches for 500 yards with a touchdown after not getting a catch in 2021. Bryan Thompson (48 catces for 580 yards and four touchdowns) did the same in 2022 after having just 13 catches in 2021, while Ricky Pearsall went from six catches and 86 yards in 2020 to 48 catches in 2021.

After joining ASU in 2019, Wade moved into a graduate assistant position in 2021, mainly working with wide receivers before being elevated to wide receivers coach prior to the season. He spent two years with the Sun Devils as both an offensive analyst and a recruiting assistant, tasked with evaluating Division I college football prospects and assessing player skills and talents.

Prior to joining the ASU, Wade was immersed in the local high school scene as a member of Phoenix’s Cesar Chavez High School coaching staff. As the team’s wide receivers’ coach for two-and-a-half-years, Wade specialized in developing strategies and game plan approaches through studying game tape and evaluating player talent.

Wade was also the head coach and co-president of Arizona Saints Sports for four-plus years, a youth football organization where he evaluated player talent and developed team training programs.

Wade is a graduate of Phoenix’s Desert Vista High School and the University of Arizona, where he was inducted into the school’s Ring of Honor in 2015. He caught 230 passes for 3,351 yards and 23 touchdowns from 1999-2002 with the Wildcats.
