Nate Wainwright enters his third season with the Sun Devil Football program, his second as chief of staff/associate athletic director.
From 2013 through 2017, Wainwright worked with Mason Dixon Energy, Precision Oil and Gas, and LCS - Clarity Pointe Little Rock where he was the Executive Director of a 100% Alzheimer’s and Dementia Memory Care Community.
Prior to his current appointment, Wainwright last worked in athletics as the associate director of athletics at Lehman College from 2010 to 2012. He supervised and coordinated day-to-day operations for 17 NCAA Division III varsity sports.
Before assuming the position at Lehman, Wainwright worked for three years from 2006 to 2009 as the manager of football operations and player development for the Kansas City Chiefs where he oversaw all day to day, game day and travel operations for the team. Wainwright served as Herm Edwards' assistant in addition to assisting with the scouting of free agents and draft-eligible players. He also assisted in the coaching and management of the defense.
Wainwright was the executive administrator to the head coach for the New York Jets from 2001 to 2006. His duties included assisting the head coach and defensive coordinator, organizing and coaching the scout team, producing the defensive playbook for the team, aiding in the coaching of defensive backs during practice and games and assisting with all operations associated with the team.
Wainwright started his career in 1998 as a tickets sales associate for the New Orleans Saints.
Wainwright graduated from the University of Iowa in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in communications studies.
