Tim Cassidy

Tim Cassidy joined the Arizona State University football program as the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Football in January 2012. Cassidy spent the previous four seasons as the Associate Athletic Director for football at Texas A&M University and is widely considered one of the top football administrators in the country.
 
Cassidy’s fundraising efforts were instrumental in securing gifts from benefactors for ASU’s Student Athlete Facility that opened in 2017. The 118,669-square-foot structure serves as the home of Sun Devil Football. Cassidy’s expertise was also pivotal in designing various aspects of the $57 million project, which set a new standard for such facilities in excellence and innovation in fulfilling all the daily needs of student-athletes.
 
Cassidy had 23 years of experience at Texas A&M rising from graduate assistant to recruiting coordinator, to assistant athletic director, to associate athletic director. During his career at Texas A&M, Cassidy was part of several championship teams. He was part of the 1985 and 1986 Southwest Conference Champions, the 1991, 1992 and 1993 Southwest Conference Championship squads, as well as the 1997, 1998 and 2010 Big 12 South title teams and the 1998 overall Big 12 Champion unit.
 
Cassidy coordinated travel, recruiting, budget and staffing for the football office, assisted with scheduling and oversaw the compliance, strength and conditioning, equipment and academic support units regarding football and he supervised the football support staffs.
 
While serving as recruiting coordinator at Texas A&M, Cassidy had a proven eye for identifying the nation’s best talent as he assisted with the recruitment of quarterback Johnny Manziel (winner of the 2012 Heisman Trophy, Davey O’Brien Award, Manning Award, AP Player of the Year and was a consensus all-American), defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (winner of the 2009 Outland Trophy, Lombardi Award, Bronco Nagurksi Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award and AP Player of the Year) and offensive tackle Luke Joeckel (winner of the 2012 Outland Trophy).
 
Cassidy served as the associate athletic director for football at the University of Nebraska before his recent stint with the Aggies. In addition to working with the football staff and assisting in recruiting efforts, Cassidy was a key member of the athletic administration with the Huskers.
 
With more than 35 years of experience working in college football, Cassidy was instrumental in the planning of the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex that houses the Nebraska football team, coaches’ offices, training room, weight room and administrative offices. He also assisted with the planning for the Texas A&M Bright Football Complex and the Nye Academic Center - a $28 million venture. The Bright Complex houses all of the football areas while the Nye Academic Center is an academic area for all Aggie student-athletes.
 
Cassidy, who has been a member of staffs that have earned a combined 25 appearances in bowl games (including Sugar, Cotton, Alamo and Holiday), had three tours of duty with the Aggies. He came to A&M from Morningside College where he was an assistant football coach from 1981-83. He joined Jackie Sherrill’s Texas A&M staff as a graduate assistant in recruiting in 1983-84 and was promoted to recruiting coordinator in 1985-86. Cassidy was also the recruiting coordinator at the University of Florida from 1987-88.
 
Cassidy and his wife Nancy have three children: Ryan (35), Austin (31) and Danielle (30). His wife is a senior accounting lecturer at ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
