OVERVIEW:
- Joined the program as a walk-on prior to the 2013 season, earned a scholarship on Aug. 21, 2014, soldified a starting spot at safety by the third game of 2014, garnered All-Pac-12 honors by the end of the season, named a team captain on May 5, 2015, and was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award on Oct. 26, 2015

- Two-time winner of the program's Darren Woodson Outstanding Secondary Award
- Two-year letterwinner who appeared in 22 career games with 21 starts
- Recorded 191 career tackles, including 148 solo, 13.5 for loss and five sacks
- Tallied four career interceptions with 38 return yards, and added eight pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble
- Led the team in tackles per game in consecutive seasons with 9.1 in 2015 and 8.3 in 2014
- Graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology in December 2015
- Dedicated numerous hours at various kid’s camps and youth clinics throughout his career, as well as countless visits to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and multiple elementary and middle schools across the state
REDSHIRT SENIOR (2015):
- Started 10 games before he suffered a season-ending injury against Washington on Nov. 14
- Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist (just the fourth in school history and first since 2000)
- All Pac-12 Honorable Mention
- Recorded 91 tackles, including 74 solo, nine for loss, and four sacks, and added two interceptions, six pass deflections, and four pass breakups
- Semifinalist for the Burlsworth Award, given to the nation's top player who began his career as a walk-on
- Associated Press All-Pac-12 Second Team
- Phil Steele’s 2015 Postseason All-Pac-12 First Team
- Earned the program's Darren Woodson Outstanding Secondary Award
- Earned the program's Frank Kush Captains Award
- Team captain and member of the team's leadership council
- Finished the season ranked second in the FBS with 7.4 solo tackles per game
- Recorded double-digit tackles in five games, and led or tied for the team lead in tackles in seven games
- Had an interception and seven tackles to open the season against Texas A&M (9/5)
- Notched a career-best three tackles for loss against Cal Poly (9/12) while tying for the game lead with 12 tackles in the contest
- Against New Mexico (9/18) he finished with 10 tackles and added a sack, a pass breakup and an interception
- Matched team lead with eight tackles against USC (9/26)
- Tied for the team lead with eight tackles and half a tackle for loss against UCLA (10/3)
- Led all players with 12 tackles, a career-best two sacks and a pass defensed against Utah (10/17)
- Recorded 10 tackles, including a sack, and a pass breakup against Oregon (10/29)
- Finished with a team-high and season-high 13 tackles against Washington State (11/7)
- Named to the preseason watch list for the Nagurski Award
REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2014):
- Appeared in 12 games with 11 starts
- All Pac-12 Honorable Mention
- Tallied 100 tackles, including 74 solo, 4.5 for loss and a sack, and added two interceptions, two pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble
- Ranked first on the team with 8.3 tackles per game
- Earned the program's Darren Woodson Outstanding Secondary Award
- Had a career-high 20 tackles against USC (10/4), becoming the first Sun Devil to record 20 tackles since Mark Tingstad vs Arizona in 1988
- Made his first career start in the opener against Weber State (8/28) and logged three tackles
- Burst onto the scene against Colorado (9/13) as he recorded a career-high 13 tackles, including two for loss, and added his first career interception and first career forced fumble while also making the tackle on fourth down on a key goal-line stand in the third quarter
- Had his third double-digit tackle game of the season against Washington (10/25), finishing with 10 tackles
- Made it consecutive games with double digit tackles with a team-leading 13 against Utah (11/1)
- Led team with nine tackles and his first career sack against Notre Dame (11/8)
- Stood out in the Sun Bowl as he logged 10 tackles and a fumble recovery (12/27)
- Nominated for the Burlsworth Award, given to the nation's top player who began his career as a walk-on
REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2013):
- Enrolled at ASU and spent the year on the scout team as a redshirt
SOPHOMORE (2012):
- Left Washington State and spent the year away from football
WASHINGTON STATE (2011):
- Played one year of football at Washington State, spending time on special teams
HIGH SCHOOL:
- A 2011 graduate of Skyline High School in Sammamish, Wash.
- Earned letters in football and basketball
- Selected as defensive MVP and captain at Skyline
- Member of state champion football team in 2009 and 2010
- Team Captain during 2010 season
Personal: Father is Ronnie and mother is Patty. Has one brother, Gino, and one sister, Payton. Father played football at Arizona State and brother played at Washington State. Born July 21, 1992.
